September 20, 20187 yr Author comment_5867354 Finally another 50s match and Pedro's first MSG title defense. Dallas Wrestling 08/26/1952 – The Fighting Fifties Mexican legend Rito Romero battles Danny Savich in a 2-Out-of-3 Falls Match from the famed Sportatorium in Dallas, TX. WWWF @ MSG 03/15/1971 – The Pride of Puerto Rico The beloved Pedro Morales defends championship gold against WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Mulligan as their rivalry reaches a fever pitch. WWE 08/28/1987 – Demolishing the Competition WWE Hall of Famers unite when Tito Santana teams with the legendary Mil Mascaras to take on the tough tandem of Demolition. Nitro 09/23/1996 – Lucha Legend Rey Mysterio puts his WCW Cruiserweight Championship on the line against fellow luchador Super Calo in this rarely seen match from Nitro.
September 20, 20187 yr comment_5867360 I never would have thought to associate the words Hidden Gem and Super Calo, but the rest of those are pretty sweet!
September 20, 20187 yr comment_5867362 "Rarely seen match from Nitro"? WTF? How do you put something that's already on the Network up again as a "Hidden Gem"? Ridiculous.

September 20, 20187 yr comment_5867432 OK, then I take it back. That's really cool. Every week should be like this one.
September 21, 20187 yr comment_5867637 The Mysterio vs Super Calo match was a fun '96 TV match. I am guessing it was originally meant to air on Main Event since Mysterio takes a sunset flip bomb to the floor and there are slo-motion replays, but it ended up being scrapped when Spoiler Super Calo broke his arm during the finishing stretch and can't catch Rey on the rana attempt at all.
September 27, 20186 yr comment_5868109 They put up a new Collection on HHH/Taker featuring every singles match between them ever - pretty cool considering their rivalry is usually limited to Mania. Including in the collection are new hidden gems of HHH/Taker from Kuwait Cup 96, HHH/Taker from Feb 97 Shotgun Saturday Night, and HHH/Taker from Friday Night Main Event Sept 97
September 29, 20186 yr comment_5868180 I'm just watching the HHH vs undertaker from the Kuwait cup and it the referee the long time timekeeper/beer can chucker mark yeaton ?

Yeah, he was the referee on a lot of international tours. You can tell him by the moustache.
October 11, 20186 yr comment_5868963 Tomorrow's hidden gems Carlos Colon vs. Johnny Rodz (WWWF @ MSG, 8/1/77) Latin Fury (Konnan) vs. Art Barr (WWE, 1/8/92) Super Loco vs. El Hijo del Santo (Super Astros, 11/22/98) Eddie Guerrero vs. Nova (OVW, 11/20/2002)
October 11, 20186 yr comment_5868964 Three of the four are out there already, but not exactly easy to just find on Youtube on a stable channel, at least. But an early Konnan dark match tryout against Art Barr of all people? Yes, please! Edit: Graham has Barr working the Juicer gimmick, which I believe is how PWI reported it at the time as well. That may be an interesting visual in a WWF ring.
October 11, 20186 yr comment_5868965 Also, I knew it happened, but it always boggles my mind when I'm reminded Hijo del Santo techincially worked for the WWF.
October 11, 20186 yr comment_5868968 I was at the Raw the night before. Santo and Casas worked Taka and Aguila. I still think it’s crazy that I saw Santo and Casas live.

October 11, 20186 yr comment_5868978 Cawthon had match times and finishes for most of that MSG card, including that match, so I assumed it was out some way or another.

October 18, 20186 yr comment_5869536 They just dropped the entire Last Battle Of Atlanta card. It totally feels like " Hey, give Johnny Sorrow types something to distract them from this Saudi Arabia fucking debacle ."
October 18, 20186 yr comment_5869563 For people who think I am entirely cold and analytic with this stuff, I fully admit having an ear to ear grin upon my face watching the crowd's reaction to Roop nailing Wrestling II with the cane for the transition.
October 19, 20186 yr comment_5869608 Maaaan that Wrestling 2/Roop match rocked. Wrestling 1 sitting with the cast and crutches at ringside, the crowd standing and blocking the camera so you can’t see what’s happening post-match, awesome stuff.
October 19, 20186 yr Author comment_5869610 What the hell was that Road Warriors match. Didn't expect that at all.
October 19, 20186 yr comment_5869617 So that Jake vs Sawyer match might be my favorite Jake performance ever.

He was MEAN here, and little things like him casually leaning against the ropes while Sawyer is rolling around in pain on the ground added so much.
October 22, 20186 yr comment_5869848 I'm comfortable putting Jake vs. Sawyer in the ****-****1/2 range. Sawyer is really good too, but this is a Jake masterpiece. He has all of those "little things" psychology-wise that everyone likes to talk about, but he also adds some pure viciousness and even some high-end offense to his demolition of Brett Wayne. The added drama from Ole, II, and Buzz all on the outside is great as well.
