Posted June 29, 20187 yr comment_5855250 Matt Cappotelli was only 38 years old (younger than many of us, including me) and died after two long bouts of brain cancer. That sucks. From his wife's Facebook page: Hey Team Capp...I've been struggling with what to say and how to say this, and I'll probably end up rambling, but here goes. Today my love-my strong, sweet, beautiful love-took his last breath at 3:30 a.m. and went Home to be with Jesus...exactly one year after his brain surgery. You think you can be prepared for this when you know it's coming, but you just can't. The only person who's comfort I want right now is the one who can't give it to me. I miss him so much. I know where he is now is so much better, but it doesn't change how much I miss him. His most famous moment arguably was getting assaulted by Bob Holly on Tough Enough. If not for his health issues, I think he would've done big things in the wrestling business.
June 29, 20187 yr comment_5855252 Life can be so cruel. He barely had scratched the surface of how good he could be but cancer struck. One of those "What if?" moments that I hate. Condolences to his family and friends.
June 29, 20187 yr comment_5855254 Wasn't so familiar with the dude in terms of him being a wrestler, but taking his story and how revered he is in the business into consideration, it's hard not to feel really sad about his passing. May he rest in peace.
June 29, 20187 yr comment_5855255 There's some really lovely tributes to him on Twitter at the moment, universally liked and no-one with a bad word to say about him. RIP Matt
June 30, 20187 yr comment_5855264 He, by all accounts, was a really great guy. Very strong through this whole thing. A friend did a news story on him a few months ago. Last night, the story won a journalism award. So strange the timing on that. I hope Matt's at peace now.
June 30, 20187 yr comment_5855284 I had thought he passed a few months ago. He was very talented in OVW, him and Johnny Jeter were a very good team.
June 30, 20187 yr comment_5855309 Think that says so much about the person that one of his best friends (and vice versa) was Bob Holly. The guy who beat the crap out of him on Tough Enough

The guy who beat the crap out of him on Tough Enough Oh wow, where did you hear this? Do you have a link? I tried googling it (including the words "best friend") and all I get are stories about the original incident.
June 30, 20187 yr comment_5855329 Yeah I thought I saw this but looking at more "best friend" wasn't right. Or maybe it was one side of the fence. I know he was very respectful later to Matt when he was diagnosed with cancer

I know he was very respectful later to Matt when he was diagnosed with cancer Holly was kind of a cantankerous prick about Matt in his book. From what I recall, he was sympathetic about Matt's cancer diagnosis but said Matt would have never made it in the business because he cried after the assault.
July 2, 20187 yr comment_5855573 Very sad to hear, he was a guy that got dealt such a bad hand twice in life and never let it make him hateful or bitter but used it to inspire others and let how good a person he was shine through. RIP to Matt.
