I get so busy in there, they had to add the "O" from my first name and the word "orgasm" to concoct a new word to describe it.

It's now referred to as the Bed-O-room.

Get used to seeing that.

CJ, that profile thing is BAD ASS. And one tiny little thing that makes it even more bad ass than it already is, in my opinion? You look like Meth in that picture, and you KNOW how much I love HIM.

Hi, I'm Sass.

That's what people online and outside call me. It's all good. I've gone by this name, MagnumSAs and an abbreviated version of Magnum.

In late 1995, I gained net access and checked out the late and lamented RSPW site that used to be worth a damn checking out. I came online looking for people to talk wrestling with. Oh, and to check out porn. I'm not going to lie here. So in 1997, long-time wrasslin fan Scott Keith and several of his buddies from RSPW branch out and form the nWWWo along with a couple other prominent RSPWers who formed their own sites so that's when I started branching out as a lurker and poster. RANTSYLVANIA later popped up and that was infamous nut job Sean Shannon's own website where many of us here met up on the Delphi board there. Shannon, Scott Keith, Don Becker and Bob Morris were the prominent writers/recappers there and for about 3 years things were all good in the hood. Then, Shannon lost his fuckin mind one day and up and left the site in Keith's care. Keith transferred the ownership of the site to his buddy of Don Becker and for about a year everything was okay again. Then, on 12/7/01, a large chunk of the regular posters there left the board in protest over the actions taken by Keith's web master Jeremy Botter who banned poster Witty Banter for no real reason other than asking an innocent question about "posting policy" and that set things off and helped open up World Domination Inc. created by TheFlyingDutchman and posting clique the Post Whoresmen. Keith kept the board going but had lost a lot of good will with his fans, who posted on his board, after he played a prank on the board with the help of his friend and shit disturber legend the Scottsman who collaborated with him on creating a site hacker by the name of HACKMASTER. I forget if HACKMASTER happened before or after the WDI Exodus. Not soon after that, the EZ Board format was switched to an Invision board and less than a year later Keith would no longer have anything to do with the site he had helped make into one of the premier wrestling sites for match reviews and recaps. He went into business with 411Wrestling and he no longer became a person of consequence to discuss any further. Mocking him, however, hit a fever pitch that has only managed to cool off since he ditched 411 for the chance to get hitched up with a gal. That ends that chapter on Rantsylavnia/TheSmartMarks association I had. Oh yeah, I'm also an admin at TSM but haven't done much worth mentioning here other than trying and failing at making the front site a wrestling Mecca for match reviews. That didn't work out like I had hoped.

World Domination Inc. or WDI as many liked to refer to it as, was the place where most of us on this board got to know one another. WDI was created out of spite because of the dickish actions taken by Rantsylavnia webmaster Jeremy Botter, who even entered enemy territory and posted at WDI threatening to get the board shut down if anything happened to his board. That was good for a laugh. After the first year or so, WDI started to turn into a hang out place for friends and cliques rather than a collection of pissed off Keith fans. People still didn't like Keith but the reasons became more valid, by criticizing his drooping work rather than his weight or bowl top hair cut. Don Becker once said "posting cliques were gay" and that helped create the gPc or the gheyPostingclique. The "ghey" word was made retarded as an attempt to not offend fellow poster and beloved wrestling analyst Loss4Words, which was still stupid. But, that was the main idea. It was stupid. But it was funny to many people at the time, me included. IllustriousOne85, StevieBCool, Hoffman, TheThreadKiller, and Indigo Pleasure were the guys (and girl) who formed the gPc, who were friends with the Post Whoresemen. They followed Dutch, E&C, and Witty Banter to WDI and the two cliques found common ground with one another. During the first 3 or 4 months of WDI's existence, many of the current NMB posters here filtered over to the WDI ranks with some others that don't post here or anywhere else today for that matter (as far as we know anyways). In about March, WDI set-up an AIM link to a WDI chat room. It was one of the best and worst things to happen to WDI. The pros and cons deserve their own thread and should be discussed another time. Needless to say, this was where many of us here at NMB got to know one another and many nights saw a lot of folks stay up late shooting the shit or shitting on others.

By WDI's first year anniversary, things had fallen apart. In-fighting and rampant drama ended up being the downfall for WDI's progression and growth. By its 3rd year, the site was a dust land. Many people left and never came back. Some left but started up their own sites or else they joined other sites and became full-time posters there while rarely frequently WDI.

And I saw all of this stuff go down first hand.

I helped save WDI from losing the majority of its posters when the in-fighting had reached a fever pitch in the summer of '02, which involved Dutch and Illustrious One in a Cuban Missle Crisis type moment where it looked as though WDI was going to get wiped out. I helped advert that mess but I could only do so much and soon I saw my efforts did nothing and I cut my losses with the site after that. I made a couple attempts at trying to revive WDI and help it reclaim its golden years of posting and chats but it was too late for things to go back to the way they had been before. People had changed, moved on with their lives and some wanted nothing to do with the site or its posters. It's too bad because that first year was a wild and fun time to be in.

It was the best of times and it was the worst of times. We were a community and dare I say an online family.

I know this post isn't much about me but I just felt like sharing.

Carry on.

This thread is ghey...

And with that out of the way, how are you doing? Got the link from the Sassman a while back but haven't been able to post due to the drama lovely that is marriage seperation. Most of you know that I'm not a typist of many letters but I have been around since the (g?)olden days of WDI. For those few who don't know of me, the phrase at the top is/was my calling card... that's about it, hopefully I can actually contribute something substantial for once in my messageboarding history.

Kudos

Nice to have you here, Mad Dog. I hope you enjoy it here... if you're looking for a place to discuss wrestling, look no further. Even though I don't watch it anymore, I can safely say that NMB has the best wrestling folder you'll find. Welcome, bro!

I came across this board through a link at the DVD Talk forums. The movie discussion threads looked interesting, so I decided to register.

From what I can tell, this looks like an intelligent place to discuss wrestling. I post at TSM as Askewniverse, but I rarely post in the WWF folder now. The quality in that folder has been bad for quite some time. Most of the intelligent posters have either quit posting regularly in that folder or left the site completely (Loss, HTQ, etc).

comment_2063566

Yeah, I know he's a mod at TSM. He doesn't post as much as he used to, but I can't say that I blame him. HTQ was nice enough to type up reports from the Observer, but a few people acted like ungrateful twits.

Thanks for the welcome.

comment_2063644

GH does Observer posts here and everyone is grateful. HTQ will occasionally post Meltser's match reviews as well.

Couldn't remember if I posted in this or not. Anyway, this be Ray from Smarkschoice.com. Post as "Kawada~!" or "Benoit is God" or various other names on various other boards. Smarkschoice is home, though.

I'm also a complete whackjob, prone to mood swings, so if I insult you, you'll know why. ;-)

comment_2090837

Hello, I post as Rainmaker at DVDVR and Smarkschoice. I don't know why I made the name change here. Heh. Anyway, I hope to have fun here. :)

EDIT: I used to post at the Oratory, but the Greatest Wrestler Tournament (which was in the summer of 2003, I think) made my head hurt so bad that I left and haven't posted there until today.

Hi, I'm Hunter's Torn Quad. You might remember me from such classic threads as "WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot", and "The Current Events folder. It's a lot like Hitler."

Tonight, on New Millennium Blues, you'll see me dispense wrestling knowledge, the occasional match review, and the desire to see Diesel come here and die, as advertised.

comment_2149267

Hi. I'm Dorian, formerly Lightning Flik of TSM. That's about all I need to say concerning myself. I'll catch you around.

and the desire to see Diesel come here and die, as advertised.

hehe

And welcome to the board, Flik. Good to have you aboard. :)
