Ishii vs. Sabre Jr. is one of the best pairings in all of pro-wrestling, and here they delivered yet another outstanding match. Zack's control over Ishii was brutal as usual; he focused on the arm(s), and Ishii's selling was simply fantastic. LOVED Ishii's countering of the things by going after the leg of Zack, too - such an unique twist, and something I certainly wasn't expecting out of the Stone Pitbull. The way Rocky Romero & Kevin Kelly built up the "Ishii might pass out, but he will NEVER tap out!" -issue was terrific as well, and really added to the finish when ZSJ locked in one of his most brutal looking submissions ever. ****1/4

Another Ishii vs Zack match, another match of wild chemistry. It's so interesting seeing two guys who just have the opposite styles of wrestling from each other but can still have a great match with each other. Maybe it's more of an attribute to the talent both guys possess, but they definitely have exciting matches everytime. The final stretch in particular was dramatic as Ishii almost pulled out the win, ****1/4.

This was a really fun match that I thought was building towards one of the better G1 outings thus far before ending rather suddenly.  It seemed like it could've used more limb work from Sabre and another fired up or two from Ishii, but they may very well have been saving that for the Ibushi match.

***3/4

These guys always have great chemistry together and this was no exception. Love how the common thread in these matches has been Sabre going after Ishii's arm or arms and Ishii being forced to adapt. Liked that he used the other arm for most of his trademark offense and even managed to hold his own against Sabre in the early grappling exchanges. As fun as it is to watch Ishii clobber people, it's sometimes even better to watch him as the resilient underdog giving his opponent favored to win absolute hell. And the pop-up headbutt to the sternum was just fantastic.

****1/4.
