Posted August 22, 200619 yr comment_5377681 From the latest WO update: --Apparently WWE got rights to some old Portland Wrestling tapes, and all the Roddy Piper stuff from California must be gone. The Roddy Piper DVD has a 1 hour and 45 minute documentary on his career and ending with the Hall of Fame Ceremony. Matches are: *Roddy Piper & Mike Popovitch vs. Buddy Rose & Rip Oliver from Portland *Piper vs. Buddy Rose from Portland *Piper vs. Jack Brisco 7/7/82 *Piper vs. Greg Valentine dog collar match from the first Starrcade *Piper & Orndorff vs. Hogan & Mr. T from the first Wrestlemania *Piper vs. Mr. T from Wrestlemania II *Piper vs. Iron Sheik from 10/4/86 Saturday Night Main Event *Piper vs. Bob Orton from 11/29/86 Saturday Night Main Event *Piper vs. Adrian Adonis form Wrestlemania III *Piper vs. Hogan MTV special 2/18/85 *Piper vs Rick Rude cage match 12/28/89 MSG *Piper vs. Badnews Brown (Badnews Allen) Wrestlemania VI *Piper vs. Bret Hart Wrestlemania VII *Piper vs. Mountie 1992 Royal Rumble *Piper vs. Goldust Hollywood brawl Wrestlemania XII *Piper vs. Hogan 12/29/96 Starrcade There is also a huge collection of Piper's Pits, including the Frankie Williams one Looks like they're doing the usual route of pretending that the WCW runs of guys they feature in DVDs barely existed, but this is probably going to be worth whatever they charge for it just for the Piper's Pit segments.
August 22, 200619 yr comment_5377701 Wow, they've really started getting lazy on their DVDs. All of those matches are easy to get and a lot of them are available on DVDs that have been released recently or will be released soon.
August 22, 200619 yr comment_5377860 Well, I'm sure that people won't be paying for a Piper DVD for the matches. There could be two matches and 40+ promos and I'd be ecstatic.

In fairness, a good group of matches (Portland tag, Rose, Brisco, Sheik, Orton, Rude cage, Mountie and Hogan Starrcade) have yet to get on a WWE DVD yet, so they're getting better there (as opposed to, say, the upcoming WWE Championship DVD. Besides, the rest are moreless necessities for a Piper career perspective.

Yep, I'm with kjh on this one. I'd rather the Starrcade 96 match not be on there, in fact, but I understand the purpose of throwing it in.
August 23, 200619 yr comment_5382317 No Snuka matches though? You'd think at least their first MSG match (where Piper "injures" Snuka's neck with the piledriver) would have at least been put on there.
August 23, 200619 yr comment_5383721 Yeah that can't be right. To not have any of the Snuka matches would be madness. I remember that old Coliseum Video Roddy Piper's Greatest Hits was packed with matches from the Snuka feud. August 24, 200619 yr comment_5387131 In fairness, that Piper tape came out in 1982, so they only had a year and a half worth of footage to use. But still, at the very least the August 1984 Snuka match from MSG should have made the cut.
