This is probably the lowest Benoit has felt on the totem pole throughout the year which is odd considering he is going for the top secondary title. That is probably the Billy Gunn effect. Jericho does a promo beforehand calling Benoit a gap toothed robot and calling them R2D2 and C-3PO. He also states Kane has the qualities of a hemroid. Pretty good comedy stuff from Jericho here. Quick match focused on the two matches coming up at Armageddon. Jericho and Kane brawl around some with Jericho getting thrown into the table. Finish comes when Billy gets caught in the crossface and taps out. *1/4

I don’t know what it is but I rarely find Jericho’s insults that funny; here he’s referring to Chris Benoit and Kane as R2-D2 and C3-P0 and then comparing Kane to a haemorrhoid.  Big military press slam by Gunn, dropping ‘the Crippler’ chest first to the mat.  Benoit reverses the Irish whip and Kane pulls down the top rope, Jericho flying over it to the outside.  We get a short heat section on Y2J until he lands a spinning heel kick and tags his partner.  Great tilt-a-whirl slam from Gunn who’s had a couple of nice high impact spots in this already.  ‘One & Only’ but Kane is into break up the pin attempt.  Missile dropkick by Jericho and he and Gunn then clothesline the ‘Big Red Machine’ over the top to the outside, Y2J taking the Cactus bump.  Kane lands on his feet though and is back on the apron, snatching Gunn around the throat hadn’t realised.  Jericho saves him from the chokeslam but as Gunn turns around, Benoit with a single arm takedown into the crossface.  With Kane keeping Y2J at bay, the tap doesn’t take long, ‘the Crippler’ taking a victory over the champion into their match at Armageddon.
