This has been Samoa Joe's most physical match in a long time.  Styles is taking a beating in this one

 

Great match live but not a classic. So far, main show is 4 for 4 in the arena. We don't have great seats but this was incredibly brutal and stiff live.  

Yeah, I don't get what they were going for there. It was just a match -- good because they're good but not heated at all.

That's exactly how I saw it as well, so it came off as a bit of a disappointment given how much I loved the Summerslam match.  Still very good, but they set a pretty high bar.

Yeah, but it's really weird to go from "Yo Wendy you can call me daddy from now on because AJ is too much of a wuss and I am going to make love to his wife" to a screwy finish like that.

Good match, this show is shaping up to be a home run, but damn that last match felt weird in its story.

Joe is slow and it wasnt and cant be a grudge match beacuse of his limitations. You can only get so much out of a broken joe.

That's nonsense. I've seen plenty of great brawls between middle-aged men with big guts and bad knees. WWE just  isn't very good  at booking blood hatred, and Joe and AJ have not transcended that. 

Miz isnt he is only a good scripted promo.

To be fair, the best brawls have involved middle-aged men with big guts and bad knees.

Pretty sure Harley Race in a wheelchair at 75 could still have a good brawl. 

Yeah the atmosphere isnt good for that type of a match and wwe isnt good at this stuff but joe has fucked up knees and is so out of shape and slow.

This whole match building up to a Brie Bella hot tag is something else.

Did Brie bust Miz open hard way?

They worked that well to incorporate the women without overexposing them and their limitations.  Finish was weak though.

There's only one wsy for this feud to end... Miz and Bryan have to fight in a hair vs hair match. Of course it will be their wives' hair at stake. 

Another really good, fun match. Weird ass ending, tho.

All i am saying is that a primd Aj and joe can have a great brawl even in wwe with even restrictions and all the tropes.but a old slow dull as fuck joe and past his prime Aj at least in a wwe setting with some limations and limations of both guys. Just arent gonna have one atleast imo in a wwe setting. Any other company and an awesome grudge between these two at this stage fuck yeah.In wwe in a wwe setting no fuck no simple as that.thats just my point tho.

I don't buy or agree with the whole "Joe is past his prime" talking point.  Yeah, he's older and slower but he's had plenty of good matches since being called up to the main roster.  He just needs to be booked properly (like he was in the Lesnar angle) and when he isn't, he doesn't look good. I don't attribute that to his knees I attribute it to bad writing. This whole stupid storyline with AJ's family is a perfect example.  Joe can cut great heel promos, but they have him reading moronic children's stories because they employ shitty writers. That match with AJ was good, but it wasn't as good as the first match at Summerslam and just like with the Becky/Charlotte match, they are having these so-called "blood feud" matches start off like standard wrestling matches instead of brawls, because they suck at laying these angles out.
