Posted January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877272 Stacked card. Stadium setting. My usual group watch isnt happening this year, so I'm watching at home with my wife present (not a wrestling fan), enjoying some good beer and food. Should be fun
January 27, 20196 yr Author comment_5877273 Any surprise predictions? Is this whole Cena deal a work and they're going to try and do a reprise of 2008?
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877276 I wouldn't consider it a surprise but Dolph saying he's taking a break from WWE would normally be a huge sign that he's going to be in the Rumble. I kinda hope the Cena thing is a work, because otherwise two blatant false advertisements is something they should get shit for. Also maybe Roman is feeling well enough to make an appearance?
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877277 I could see Kairi Sane, Undisputed Era, Kacy (American Ninja, can't remember last name), Toni Storm, Pete Dunne, and David Arquette. Well, predictions that have no basis in reality atleast.
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877278 Most stacked wrestling show in a while. The card looks absolutely great: Rumble matches are always fun. Bryan & AJ will produce magic like they always do. I am not a Balor fan, but I love Brock & he always works well with smaller dudes, so the match will at the very least be very fun. Both of the women's matches look really good on paper too. Hoping for a great night of wrestling!
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877280 Toni and Pete were shown at Takeover, so I'm sure they didn't fly them in just for a crowd shot.
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877282 Could be an all-time great stadium show. The matches all look strong on paper (except the tag match) but as usual, it's a question of whether clumsy booking undermines the performances.
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877283 Serious question: how is WWE not in blatant violation of truth in advertising laws? Yeah, I know, "card subject to change," but that's supposed to cover things like injuries and acts of God. Advertising a card you have no intention of delivering seems like it should be an open-and-shut case of consumer fraud.
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877284 In that case, UFC would be in violation of said laws 9 times out of 10

Honest answer: since it's wrestling, no one who enforces the rules cares enough to do anything about it.
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877289 On the pre-show, they just said that Cena is officially out of the Rumble. Meltzer is reporting the same.
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877290 Fightful.com is saying the men's rumble is closing the show and that Becky v Asuka will open the main show
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877291 Should be an all-timer, really. Even the "weakest" matches on the card, which is Shane/Miz vs The Bar and Rusev vs Nakamura, will at least be very entertaining. Ronda vs Sasha is going to be a barn burner.
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877292 They've been calling it the 'annual 30 second royal rumble match' on Raw and Smackdown. Will that really mean all 30 have entered the rumble in less than 15 minutes? Sounds horrendous if that's really the case.
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877293 The men's Rumble being on last is interesting. I've seen people talking about rumours of a major surprise too so I wonder if they've somehow got Rock or Batista or someone to be in that match. Or maybe even Reigns.

Yeah I saw the stuff about the surprise as well. I was thinking Roman
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877299 It's reported that Maria Kanellis might be one of the surprise entries in the Women's Rumble.

Reigns at 30 would result in the pop to end all pops
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877301 To elaborate, John Pollock in his update today seemed to be implying that there is a surprise planned for the men's rumble and that the company thinks it's going to get over well. Seth just seemed too obvious
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877303 The speculation of Roman being the surprise is kinda... bad, IMO. Let the dude rest. Besides, don't want any leukemia truthers out there expanding the timeline of his disease.
January 27, 20196 yr comment_5877304 Yeah, that's already bad enough that you gotta explain each and every time that despite the chemo treatments, you can live somewhat of a normal life.
