Didn't the injury happen because he took the bump wrong in an attempt to do a dramatic oversell? I was honestly surprised that they ended up paying him anything since it wasn't anyone's fault but his really. He was more at fault that he was generally given credit for, though. He was pretty much untrained (and was cocky enough to have trainees of his own) and shouldn't have been there, plus there was no reason for him to try to take Rocker Dropper any way other than face first. The Austin fallout led to the WWF making sure the job guys were at least associated with reputable schools in some form (though some still through the cracks like the Hardys who just hooked up w/ Italian Stallion).

I read the numbers surpassed 20 million, perhaps I misread. If that's not true then I recant my statement. Also wasn't there a story about him never have taking the move before and had no real concept of the mechanics involved until showtime.

The ballot for nagasaki might be interesting...I wonder how many voters will even know he's a seperate performer from the Nagasaki that graced the U.S. as a Ninja-type for so many years?

Don't know if I mentioned this here before but I went to elementary school with a kid whose father did jobs at the Poughkeepsie TV tapings in the early/mid 80s and he was barely trained to work (if at all). So yes the WWF was very lenient (cheap/careless) in who they hired as jobbers

My recollection is that Dave has a certain number of years that he waits before putting someone back on. I forget how many. But it's a period, and there needs to a bit of a groundswell/request to put the person back on.

Thanks John - that's kind of a lousy way to handle it for Finlay, though. He probably shouldn't have even bothered being listed on the ballot in the US/Canada region, because he doesn't have anything close to credentials to deserve induction, even if he's always been an awesome worker.

Finlay may be screwed because he's worked so long in the US. Someone would have to ask Dave if he'll be US region or Euro region if he gets back on the ballot.

 

Tweeners are always a pain in the rear. Dragon was always hard to slot.

Regarding John Cena and The Miz on RAW tonight:

 

 

Jesus christ...they announce a lumberjack match tonight to prevent The Miz from "running and hiding" from John Cena any longer.

 

I'm sorry, but in the three months that The Miz has been feuding with Cena, where in the hell has there been one instance where he's ran and hid from Cena? Well, aside from last week's "Beat the Clock" match, where Miz let it be known he just had to last 6:49 with Cena to prevent him from getting a title shot.

 

Hell, he's done the total opposite of running due to his calling Cena out week in and week out a couple months back.

 

 

How in the hell can the Smackdown writing be SOOOO much better than the RAW writing right now? It's shockingly ridiculous how much better one program is right now than the other program presented by the same company.

 

I watched both last week's Superstars and Smackdown today and I was floored by how great those three hours of WWE programming were. So much fun to watch!

Konnan's considered as a Mexican wrestler for the Observer Hall of Fame. The problem with Finlay is he may pick up some votes mainly for his US accomplishments, which is unfair to the European wrestlers who had no mainstream American exposure.

Now about Finlay, it is his WWE run that has turned so many heads on to the fact that this guy can work. His WWE run destroyed his WCW run in terms of match quality and it was this that made more people believers in Finlay.

So I don't get why would you have Sgt. Slaughter guest host RAW when it's in Canada? None of the current fanbase has any recognition of him as a heel unless they watch the Mid Atlantic stuff on WWE On Demand.
