Canadian wrestling fans love Sgt Slaughter. Why would anyone even think otherwise? I do not know of one fellow wrestling Canadian wrestling peer who doesn't like Sgt. Slaughter. In fact, every one of them is a big fan. None of them watch wrestling anymore but if they knew the Sarge was on TV, I guarantee you they would be bringing in more Canadian viewers.

But yeah as a general rule, Canadians are a big fan of the Sarge.

Is calling Jeff Hardy the 2009 Lex Luger, a fair comparison?

No...Jeff is a harder worker than Luger ever was.

Jeff is More over than Luger ever was

and Jeff actually loves the business as opposed to Luger. Who would deny to people he was even in the business.

I need to know more about this. He would tell people he met that he wasn't a wrestler? Would say it was a temp job and he wasn't "in the business"? Would tell people he wasn't this "Lex Luger" fellow?

Not sure Jeff loves the business as much as he loves meth.

Not going to argue Jeff isn't over as hell - especially after seeing him live - but Luger in 88-90 was in the same neightborhood.

Not going to argue that Jeff does bigger spots, but Hardy has never had as good a year as Luger had in the ring in 89.

Funny, I agree with all three points you make here. I'd rather watch Luger at his best than Jeff Hardy at his best, without any doubt.

Occasionally on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Brian Alverez answer questions asked on the forum. Today someone asked "In the 90's Bret Hart bought a mansion in American from Monty Burns. Did he ever sell it back to him?".

I physically laughed out loud for awhile. Not at the silly question, but the fact that oblivious Dave (and I guess Alverez) didn't catch it and talked seriously for about 2 minutes on Bret's housing situation in the 90's and frugalness. Poor Dave, he expects actual questions and doesn't deserve these rick-rolls.

The guy on the forum also said he asked if Bret ever had the match with the Shrieking Sheik? but it wasn't asked on-air.

What are you basing all of that on? All three points you listed are debatable, with the third one being based in nothing I have ever read or heard.

In what way do they compare?

I actually wasn't talking about from a work standpoint, but as far as drugs and drug abuse is concerned. Just a lot of shades of Luger

as to the third point - Mike Graham on the Legends Round table on Classics on Demand told of his disgust of seeing Luger deny to people on planes other places that he was Lex Luger. He was given all the chances in the world to get over in the WWE and what did we wind up with "The Lex Express". The man liked the money but plainly had no passion for the business and kindly name me three good matches he had with someone not named Flair.
