The latest Babinsackery.

The DVD is long. But it is also well produced, with Blu-Ray technology and a variety of camera shots, a variety of enhancements and production values beyond most other shoot style DVDs. But it is long.

Umm...what?!?!

(Also, the latest from Wahlers is not a pay site article, so...yay?)

How about the rest of that Babbysack quote:

There are lengthy bits with Basham visiting towns and pubs in Ireland, which is cool in some respects, and way too effusive in fawning over the current President of the United States of America.

I can only imagine that the Babby's opinionz4u re: politics must be astounding.

For background the scene was taped a month or so ago after the election and near the birth place of Obama's ancestors.

Love the way Babby couldnt bring himself to name the President directly.

Arch-bishop Troll Truth Hurts (but you're not speaking it):

Hey, It's refreshing to read a quasi-intelligent Liberal mind, but re-writing the 1960s is the mark of insanity.

MLK was Republican. Maybe because the Republicans "freed the slaves", started the NAACP, and fought tooth and nail agains Al Gore Sr and Dems to enact Civil Rights.

Al Gore Jr didn't follow his Old Man into the Republican Racist Party, I don't think. Did Al Gore Sr stay a racist Democrat or what?

Nixon's Southern Strategy seemed more to wrest like-minded political mindsets, the ones that don't want an overbearing gov't

And by the way, JFK was far more like Reagan or Bush than he was BO (what's that smell?) or WC. JFK served in a war, cut taxes and loved his country. (Ask not what your country can do for you.. ) Damn! was he an extremist or not?

Oh man....

I'm not surprised, mind you, but still.... oh man.

Here's another gem from that Yahoo profile:

No one says gays cannot marry.

Problem is, they don't want to marry the opposite sex, which is the definition of marry.

I don't think there's a rolleyes emoticon big enough to reply properly to that.

I must have missed Ronnie serving in war.

Ditto's W.

Civil Rights Act vote:

The Senate version:

Democratic Party: 46-21 (69%-31%)

Republican Party: 27-6 (82%-18%)

The Senate version, voted on by the House:

Democratic Party: 153-91 (63%-37%)

Republican Party: 136-35 (80%-20%)

It was a Democratic bill, and more Dems voted for it. Obviously there were more Dems in Congress at the time.

Who didn't vote for it?

Senate:

Southern Democrats: 1-20 (5%-95%)

Southern Republicans: 0-1 (0%-100%)

Northern Democrats: 45-1 (98%-2%)

Northern Republicans: 27-5 (84%-16%)

Same type of split in the House on their original version:

Southern Democrats: 7-87 (7%-93%)

Southern Republicans: 0-10 (0%-100%)

Northern Democrats: 145-9 (94%-6%)

Northern Republicans: 138-24 (85%-15%)

The "Southern" vote was against it, to an even higher % among GOP southerns. And of course the Southern Strategy was all about drawing White Southerns away from the Democratic Party into the GOP with Civil Rights as the wedge. It's explicitly documented in GOP memos and papers from the era, right down to the concept of trying to attract "Negrophobe" white folks to the GOP. Only someone ignorant of the facts would try to claim otherwise, or someone trying to hide reality because it sheds light on their own feelings on the topic that they'd just as soon keep hidden.

Among the first to bail were leading Dixiecrats like Thurmond. Those that stayed like Byrd came to see the error of their ways and rather publicly come to Jesus on it. And of course plenty got voted out and replaced by Southern GOPers like Jesse Helms.

Latest Babinsack might actually be his worst yet, as he further works in his politics (including a possible gay sex is as bad as bestiality reference, general homophobia, and FUCK U IF U HATE AMURICA stuff), is frustrated by MOCKERY OF PRO WRESTLING!!!!!!1111, and takes another shot at Greg Oliver and myself.

Tit-for-tat, as well, since the opening and theme song for Slamtasia is a profanity-laced parody, with a certain four letter word beginning with an ‘F’  (but at least it’s not spelled F-A-K-E!) and a horrifically anti-American tenor.

Yeah, Canadians taking pot-shots at America is a long tradition in the business, from Bret Hart’s regrettable slam on Pittsburgh (c’mon, did you think you were in Cleveland?) and before that the legions of “evil Canadians” under the employ of Vincent Kennedy McMahon. I could take it to a more personal level, but why give publicity to hypocritical and bitter reviewers from another Canadian Province?

Well, that quickly wasn’t my worst nightmarish image, as the opening montage of Slamtasia 3 contains various indignant visuals of auto-erotica and hints of the typical homo-erotica and a series of teases that merely made me wonder what could possibly be worse than the last glimpse that past my eyes.

Yet at the same time, there was that sense that, by using CHIKARA pros, there was a foundation of excellence in the workrate, and there’s always the awesomely talented Steen and El Generico and peers who can work their boots off.

If you love man on man, man on animal, animal on animal, undead on faux Egyptian, various interspecies conflicts, and to be honest, the ring announcer does provide the litany of abnormalcy one can expect at the shows, then this is the product to warm your heart.

What’s fascinating about this match, even though I typically abhor man/women matches,

It made me cringe to see a nigh-mockery of professional wrestling, but in an age where three-minute matches between high caliber names doesn’t send shivers down anyone’s spine, what’s to complain about with eight or nine consecutive matches, all taking a bout a half-minute to finish, between different genders.

And there it is, as I’m going precariously close to 2000 words, and I know everyone hates it when I do that.

Everyone hates it when you get precariously close to 20 words.

There's something really weird about how Canadians slamming the US seems to bug them ("them" being a subsect of ITS STILL REAL TO THEM DAMNIT, of course), but when every other evil foreigner does it it's just a gimmick. I mean shit that Bret Hart thing was how many years ago (and he apologized for it later no less)?

Personally I blame America's inferiority complex. ;-)

Talk about something coming out of nowhere

Bryan Alvarez and Whitney Neugebauer were successfully joined in holy matrimony Saturday morning. There were no run-ins or snake attacks, although Brent Kremen was there, which may be worse. Congratulations to the happy couple. We wish them the best in all future endeavors. (Seriously, we do.)

Congrats Chico, I guess that's why Lance Storm was in town this weekend.

I like Chael Sonnen but goddamn I am sick of hearing about how he is what pro wrestling should be and how awesome he is. Jesus, the asskicking that Anderson Silva is going to give him can't come fast enough.

The Lance Armstrong rant and then denying he ever said it when it was played back to him makes the sport just look so bush league. He's becoming more Brian Pillman than Roddy Piper, which isn't a good thing.
