Posted July 10, 200718 yr comment_5419121 From Meltzer: --Joel Watts is selling on ebay a 200 page booklet he kept with the actual scripts of every Mid South and UWF wrestling sow from December 19, 1981 through June 8, 1986. Each page is a handwritten script written by either Bill Watts in most cases, or a few by Jim Ross. I'm hoping someone like Bix buys this, because I'm sure there's some wonderful info here to educate fans of this era. There's still seven days left on the auction (the default eBay number for auction length), but there's already three bids. I found the auction in question: http://cgi.ebay.com/EXTREMELY-RARE-Mid-Sou...1QQcmdZViewItem
July 11, 200718 yr comment_5419134 It looks like you get a lot from Cowboy, and a few from Ross. I'd love to see a Ross booked show.
July 11, 200718 yr comment_5419142 It looks like you get a lot from Cowboy, and a few from Ross. I'd love to see a Ross booked show.I don't know if Ross booked a few of the shows (correct me if I'm wrong) or just wrote down the notes for Watts.
July 12, 200718 yr Author comment_5419186 It's been up for only a day now, but it already has 17 bids and has jumped from $120 to $405. Still six days to go, and I'm sure the bidding will be frantic during the final day. I'm guessing this gets up near $1,000, if not more.
July 12, 200718 yr Author comment_5419200 If I had the money, I would have definitely bought it at $200 or $300 and sold PDF copies of it. I'm sure there's a lot of people out there willing to pay $20 for electronic files of this. I didn't even realize this had a $300 Buy It Now. Did Watts really believe he couldn't get much more than that for it? I'm curious to know if there's any relatively well-known names (at least to internet fans) who have put down bids for this. Though, I'd think that someone like Jim Cornette would be able to get a copy of this without having to win an eBay auction.
July 12, 200718 yr comment_5419226 Somebody I know said they would pay up to $1500 for this, so the price might get even nuttier.
July 13, 200718 yr Author comment_5419279 OK, you're bidding total update for tonight is $419.80 with 5 days, 15 hours left. Only two more bids since last night. I'm sure the bidding will be minimal until the final two days, where I'm sure people will go apeshit.
July 13, 200718 yr comment_5419306 Man some people have a lot of money to throw around. How much you wanna bet that soon enough we'll see Memphis, SMW, etc. scripts popping up?
July 18, 200718 yr Author comment_5419485 13 1/2 hours to go before bidding ends and the price has been stsuck at $429.80 for a couple of days. Which eBayer will break the glass ceiling and come away with wrestling eBay auction's top prize? I would love for some indy promoter to buy this and base his/her shows exactly off of this.
July 18, 200718 yr Author comment_5419505 Ok, 15 minutes to go and it's at $455. I'm surprised there hasn't been another flurry of bids after the initial flurry the first couple days of the auction.
July 18, 200718 yr comment_5419515 I wish I would have had the money floating around to buy that. Le sigh.
August 11, 200916 yr comment_5442717 Just noticed this now. Did a pdf of the script ever make it onto the internets?
August 12, 200916 yr comment_5442741 Is it at least known who got it? A couple of Fritz Von Erich notebooks have been sold, too. I'd really like to know who has them now
August 13, 200916 yr comment_5442742 Don't know who bought it. As far as the Fritz notebooks go, I read somewhere (KM?) that his notebooks aren't that interesting and Bronko Lubich's notebooks would be the real goldmines for info.
April 9, 201114 yr comment_5469467 It feels wrong looking at these. Like watching a tape of God killing a hooker.
