Here are some thoughts of stuff I have watched in the last couple of days.

Terry Taylor vs. Nikolai Volkoff (2/10/84)

Doesn't make the cut IMO, sort of fun back and forth match, but there are some really bad looking bumps by Nikolai. No dice IMO

Mid-South TV Title Tournament: Jake Roberts vs. Steve Casey (4/10/85)

Kris had this as a maybe nomination, and I think that is sort of where it belongs, I liked chunks of this, but it never really kicked into a disc level gear. I loved Casey's Dustin bump though

Brickhouse Brown vs. Tom Prichard (4/14/85)

This wasn't on Kris list of things to check out, but I watched it anyway. Nothing much, basic undercard mat wrestling, some punch exchanges and a roll up. Joel Watts talks about how Brickhouse loves to dance.

No DQ Match: Kamala vs. Hacksaw Duggan (4/18/85)

Your basic Duggan brawl, I think a step below what is going to make a list though. There will be better Duggan stuff on this set I imagine. Plus the finish is based around chair shots, and the chair shots kind of stink

Mid-South TV Title Tournament ? Semifinals: Jake Roberts vs. Brad Armstrong (4/24/85)

This was a TV length match which may hurt it in the final culling, but I really like this, lots of nifty little tricky Roberts stuff, and Armstrong has great babyface fire. I loved the outrage over the inverted atomic drop. In for now.

Bill Dundee & Terry Taylor vs. Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) (4/24/85)

Dundee fucking ruled in this, but it was JIP and too short to make a set. Super fun though

Mid-South Tag Titles: Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. Ted DiBiase & ?Dr. Death? Steve Williams (5/3/85)

This is the match where the R+R's lose the belts, and was classic Rock and Roll formula, with Williams and DiBiase doing a great job of working over Morton's back, I also love all of the Ricky hotshotts himself stuff. Still I don't think this is top tier stuff, I could see it falling off the list for other Rock and Roll matches

Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) (5/8/85)

A little too short to make a cut, White Boys rule though, and I loved the bodypress into the bandana 3 stooges spot. Still only a five minute TV match, and those really have to be awesome to make a cut.

Here are some thoughts about the KrisZ stuff I watched earlier

Mid-South Tag Titles: Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) © vs. Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (10/1/84)

PAS: This really didn't do a ton for me, probably in the lower end of matches I have seen between these two teams. Seems like it could be left off.

Ted DiBiase vs. Tito Santana (6/24/83)

PAS: Feels like a low end selection to me, energetic finish, I enjoyed Watts shitting on the WWF on commentary.

Mid-South TV Title: Adrian Street © vs. Chris Adams (10/24/84)

PAS: The more Adrian Street the better, this was a blast, the best match we watched of this bunch

Hacksaw Duggan/Bobby Fulton/Tommy Rogers vs. Ted DiBiase/Hercules Hernandez/”Dr. Death” Steve Williams (10/25/84)

PAS: Mostly Fulton playing face in peril, didn't do much for me at all. I say no.

Mid-South TV Title: Adrian Street © vs. Bill Dundee (11/7/84)

PAS: Kris didn't nominate this, but it was a pretty great short match. Brutal and fun, I could see this going on, despite its length.

Ted DiBiase vs. Magnum TA (11/21/84) (maybe nomination)

PAS: Some good stuff, but not enough to put on a set

Mid-South TV Title: Adrian Street © vs. Bill Dundee (11/21/84)

PAS: I liked this a lot, although not as much as Street v. Adams. Still makes a set.

NWA World Heavyweight Title: Ric Flair © vs. Kerry Von Erich (8/24/84) (JIP) (maybe nomination)

Shocked Kris only thought this was a maybe, this was a great, great match and only slightly JIPed. I actually can't remember seeing a better Kerry v. Flair match

Terry Taylor vs. Masked Superstar (11/18/84) (maybe nomination)

Masked Superstar was spectacular here, especially his in ring tope's this makes it.

Elimination Match: Chavo & Hector Guerrero/Buddy Landell vs. Brickhouse Brown/Bill Dundee/Jose Lothario (11/16/84)

Kris didn't list this as a possibility, but we watched it anyway, and I have no idea what the fuck Kris was smoking. Great, great match, with a just awesome heel performance by the Guerreros and Buddy, plus great Bill Dundee. Lothario is old and kind of useless, but he was fine as really over veteran. Probably my favorite match I have watched on this set. Definite without a doubt selection. DEFEND YOURSELF ZELLNER

North American Heavyweight Title vs. Mid-South TV Title: Ted DiBiase © vs. Terry Taylor © (3/13/85)

This was good, but it was kind of a short TV match. I think it makes it, but I could see it off if we get 100 better.

Chavo & Hector Guerrero vs. Brickhouse Brown & Master G (12/5/84)

Liked this alot, going to put this in the maybe pile, as I assume we are probably get better.

Ted DiBiase vs. Kevin Von Erich (10/27/84) (maybe nomination)

Nothing about this really stood out. Doesn't make the cut

Ghetto Street Fight: Magnum TA & Master G vs. Ernie Ladd & Butch Reed (10/27/84)

Kris didn't highlight this, but we watched it anyway, I enjoyed Ernie Ladds slacks and polo shirt, he really looked like a Black Republican in a street fight.

NWA World Heavyweight Title: Ric Flair © vs. Magnum TA (11/25/84)

This was your Ric Flair by the numbers match, which is a really great match. Although TA just filled a role. I think we put this in for now, but depending on how many Flair matches make the set, I could see this going off. Flair does win clean which I can't ever remember seeing him do as a heel.

Mid-South Tag Titles w/2 referees: Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero (managed by Jim Cornette for one night only) (1/16/85) (maybe nomination)

Short TV match, but a lot of fun, I think this goes on now, but it could depend on how many other matches between the two teams we have.

North American Heavyweight Title: Brad Armstrong © vs. Ted DiBiase (1/16/85)

Definite pick, this was really great. Brad is amazing at taking a turnbuckle shot. DiBiase wins kind of clean with the figure four, was Brad leaving the territory?

Chavo & Hector Guerrero vs. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers)

This was a lot of fun, Hector was kind of ridiculous suplex machine. It was a little house showish though. So I would say on for now, but I wouldn't go to the wall for it.

Probably not in for long. They have a house show match in the stuff Will is sending you with the same layout given 20 minutes. Great match, I think you'll like it.

The Dirty White Boys vs. The Fantastics (4/22/85)

House show match, nothing really to write home about. Mostly Tommy Rogers in a bear hug and a finish

North American Heavyweight Title: Terry Taylor © vs. Chris Adams (4/22/85)

I was really enjoying this match at the start, they did an awesome MUGA headscissors spot, and the brawling outside the ring was fun. Finish though was really blown, and I think that keeps it off.

Bill Dundee vs. Larry Clark (5/22/85)

Not a disc worthy match, but boy is Dundee fun to watch in squash matches. Not as deviant as I was expecting Dundee vs. the director of Kids to be.

North American Heavyweight Title: Terry Taylor © vs. The Nightmare (5/22/85)

This was really long and competitive for a TV match, and it was pretty exiting, still Nightmare kind of sucks, and there were some awkward points. I am going to say no here.

Mexican Death Match: Ted DiBiase & ?Dr. Death? Steve Williams vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero (6/28/85)

We may have more of this on another disc, but this feels like a disc worthy match, DiBiase was bleeding buckets, and Chavo was bumping all over the place, I assume this is the same match Loss mentioned on the Barnett tapes. This was cut up a bit, is that fuller?

Ted DiBiase vs. Magnum TA (11/21/84)

Just DiBiase killing time waiting to load his glove

Wendell Cooley vs. Edcar Thomas (5/28/85)

I enjoyed the competitiveness of this, and Edcar Thomas is fun as a guy who doesn't know what he is doing, but this doesn't make a list.

Ted DiBiase & ?Dr. Death? Steve Williams vs. Brad Armstrong & Brickhouse Brown (6/5/85)

Sort of a competitive squash, fun but not disc worthy

The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) (6/5/85)

This is a time runs out studio match, not good enough to make up for the lack of a finish.

Ted DiBiase & ?Dr. Death? Steve Williams vs. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) (6/5/85)

Sort of borderline, Feels like a promotion full of great tag matches, so this can fall by the wayside. FIP not that great, I am getting tired of the DiBiase loaded glove finish, and think it is ridiculous that they have added the Williams loaded arm pad

The Nightmare (Randy Culley) vs. Bill Dundee (6/5/85)

Who was booking Mid-South at this point when you had your tag champs winning with a loaded glove/loaded armpad combo, and your North American Champ winning with a loaded mask. Dundee is fun, but this isn't a DVD set.

Dutch Mantell vs. Brad Armstrong (6/19/85)

Fun, but never really hit the gear it needed to make a list.

The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) (6/19/85)

This is discish, a little short, but the DWB's are a great heel team. Bobby Fulton in peril is always a little problematic.

Dick Murdoch vs. Tug Taylor (1982)

This was a squash, but a pretty awesome one. Damn does Murdoch have a great brainbuster

Mid-South Tag Titles: Ted DiBiase & ?Dr. Death? Steve Williams © vs. Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (6/19/85)

Definite selection, great match, the best these two teams have had against each other, Williams looked awesome

Ted DiBiase vs. Terry Taylor (7/3/85)

Probably my current #1 match, weirdly stiff for two guys I don't think of as stiff. I mean a spectacularly great match.

Done with the ZELLNER STUFF

These are some more old thoughts about KrisZ stuff I watched a while back

Mid-South TV Title: Terry Taylor © vs. Buddy Landell (1/16/85)

Really fun, but kind of short, putting this is the maybe file.

Mid-South Tag Titles: Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) (1/21/85)

This is a great example of this match, definitely in

Texas Tornado Match: Ted DiBiase & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams vs. Hacksaw Duggan & Terry Gordy (1/21/85)

Not as good as it looks on paper, but worth putting on a disc

Robert Gibson/Jose Lothario/Ricky Morton vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero/Buddy Landell (1/31/85)

Awesome stuff, one of our favorite matches so far

Kerry Von Erich vs. Chris Adams (1/21/85)

Two great superkicks, says this match makes it

Brad Armstrong vs. Buddy Landell (1/30/85)

This wasn't much, so we can leave it off

4 Way Dance for $10,000: Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) vs. Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero (1/27/85)

Definite pick, if just for the final R+R's v. MX section, Chavo is a suplex machine

Mid-South Tag Titles w/2 referees: Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero (2/13/85)

Definite pick, I am shocked Zellner didn't highlight this. JA ACCUSE

North American Heavyweight Title: Ted DiBiase © vs. Brad Armstrong (2/3/85)

Nothing much, doesn't make the cut

Mid-South Tag Titles: Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero (2/13/85)

Probably my current #1, great great match with an awesome finish for the 80's

$10,000 vs. 5:00 with Jim Cornette for the Mid-South Tag Titles: Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) (2/3/85)

Basic R+R's v. MX which makes the cut based on the insane post match bumping of Cornette

Mid-South TV Title: Terry Taylor © vs. Jake Roberts (2/27/85)

Roberts is a ton of fun in this, shockingly good match, in.

Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) vs. Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (3/29/85)

This set is going to clearly be all Rock and Rolls matches, but this needs to be on too, as it was great
