It was only different from April-October 1985 due to Flair being babyface in the regular JCP towns and heel on TBS. After Flair made the turn everything was the same everywhere. 1989 wasn't under Jim Crockett Promotions so it can't go here.

THat is crazy semantics as the same guys, same storylines, etc. were being played out after the Turner sale.

1989 NWA was way different than 1988 JCP come on now. Steamboat & Funk came in, Luger turned heel, Flair turned face, Freebirds reunite, SST come in, lots of different stuff.

If this is an argument about where to cut off NWA set 1, I am happy to entertain another cutoff point but not including 1989 with crockett is strange... like not including post-sale UWF with mid South

That I don't agree with at all. If you stop in November of 1988, when Turner purchased JCP, you have Flair/Luger from Bash '88 on the Crockett set and Flair/Luger from Starrcade '88 on a different set. Feuds that were ongoing would be split.

Really nothing kicked in until January 1989 IE when Dusty was fired. The original plan for 1989 NWA was that it would be by itself in it's own category since they had so many great matches that year that we could easily have 50-75 matches to nominate from.

I think haveing 89 seperate is kinda wacked. I was looking forward to see where a lot of these classic Flair matches would end up in comparison to one another. I was hoping Flair/Steamboat would be judged against Flair/Windham or Flair/Morton etc. I can understand seperateing some of the stuff; but leaveing 89 seperate seems not as intersting in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah Kris, I don't think having 1989 seperate makes much sense either. I think starting one set with the debut on TBS is the way to go
