Posted July 21, 200718 yr comment_5419628 June 25, 1982 Ted Dibiase vs The Junk Yard Dog This is a great angle, with DiBiase being forced to turn on his long time friend, JYD had some amazing bling in his prematch interview. Still more of an angle then a match July 1, 1982 Junk Yard Dog vs. Bob Roop For some reason this was a JYD squash • Mr Olympia vs. The Grappler For the Missippi title and was a fun match a step below what would make a set, but worth checking out • Big Ernie Ladd vs. Killer Kahn Worth watching for the Watts explination of how Khan's screams add force to his blows.
December 4, 200717 yr comment_5424797 “Dr. Death” Steve Williams vs. Jeff Sword (6/23/82) Squash. Big John Studd & Super Destroyer vs. Ernie Kirkland & David Price (6/23/82) Good to see the National Tag champs in Mid-South. No DQ for the North American Heavyweight Title: Junkyard Dog © vs. Ted DiBiase (6/23/82) If the match was strong enough to warrant being put a nomination then we could put this through like Duggan/Gordy but it wasn’t as there wasn’t much of a match before DiBiase would turn on JYD. This is a definite extra though. Roop was awesome on commentary on this. Now we see the best thing on this set in my opinion, Vince McMahon on Mid-South TV talking with Andre the Giant about coming back from his injury to get revenge on Killer Khan. Killer Khan vs. Joe Stark (6/23/82) Squash. Colonel Buckley Christopher George Robley III vs. Billy Starr (6/23/82) Squash. We then have a wild brawl with Tom Jones, Ladd, & Robley against Assassin, Gang, & Grappler. Jesse Barr & Iron Mike Sharpe vs. The Devil’s Duo (Jeff Sword & Doug Vines) (6/23/82) Good to see Devil’s Duo as a team here considering they were quite the team in ICW and they looked good here but Sharpe was too powerful. Ted DiBiase vs. Tom Jones (6/23/82) Teddy is not quite a heel yet but is on his way. Junkyard Dog vs. Bob Roop (6/23/82) JYD is pissed off so he squashes Roop. Mississippi Heavyweight Title: Mr. Olympia © vs. The Grappler (6/23/82) This was a fun match but not enough for nomination. Killer Khan vs. “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd (6/23/82) Akbar would get involved then a steel chair was used by Khan to take out Ladd. Colonel Buckley Christopher George Robley III vs. Ricky Harris (6/23/82) Robley gets the win.
