Mid-South Tag Titles: Ted DiBiase & Mr. Olympia © vs. Tiger Conway Jr. & Mr. Wrestling II (4/16/83)

 

This is from the Superdome and Conway’s afro is fantastic. Match looked okay but it was clipped up. Olympia takes a beating and that’s the story of the match since he just turned heel and he had another match with JYD later in the show in a cage so they were really putting it to him. Olympia used a great version of the Hot Shot on Tiger in this. Conway has Olympia in the Boston Crab and DiBiase nails him with the glove and Olympia follows with his slepper for the win.

 

Steel Cage Match for the vacant North American Heavyweight Title: Junkyard Dog vs. Mr. Olympia (4/16/83)

 

Another one from the Superdome and another clipped match with Kendo Nagasaki coming out spraying mist in JYD’s eyes and in a funny move a fan throws beer in JYD’s face to help him out. Olympia locks in a sleeper but JYD falls back on him and Olympia’s shoulders get counted down.

 

King Kong Bundy vs. Don Clark (4/27/83)

 

Don Clark looks old as shit as Bundy destroys him.

 

Kendo Nagasaki vs. Ken Woodby (4/27/83)

 

Total squash until Duggan comes on the scene and tears off Akbar’s clothes.

 

Junkyard Dog vs. Ron Cheatham (4/27/83)

 

Yet another squash.

 

Mr. Olympia vs. Art Crews (4/27/83)

 

Olympia looked really good here.

 

Hacksaw Duggan vs. Kendo Nagasaki (4/27/83)

 

This is nothing but a setup for DiBiase coming in to KO Duggan with his loaded glove.

 

Chavo Guerrero vs. Bill Irwin (4/16/83)

 

This is from the Superdome and it’s clipped. Chavo looked awesome though.

 

King Kong Bundy vs. Mr. Wrestling II (4/27/83)

 

II does his funky dances during the match, which I always loved. II puts up a great fight here and his Million Dollar Kneelifts looked awesome with the last one knocking Bundy into the ref. Olympia comes out with his boot loaded and dropkicks II knocking him out. Bundy picks II up and gives him the Avalanche for the win. Fun little match while it lasted.

 

Ted DiBiase vs. Tim Horner (4/27/83)

 

The match was going real good until Duggan came out for his revenge using his 2x4 breaking it over DiBiase’s back.

 

Tiger Conway Jr. & Butch Reed vs. Ron Cheatham & Don Clark (4/27/83)

 

Squash match and these jobbers were terrible.

 

Tony Zane vs. Ken Woodby (4/27/83)

 

A jobber squash match.

All the Superdome stuff looked like a blast if we had it in full. I also thought Bundy v. II with a better finish might have been disc worthy, but nothing from here.
