Posted July 26, 200718 yr comment_5419840 Kris had this clipped on one of his tapes, but this is the full match and it is a total blast. Khan has great silent film villain facial expressions, and is a ton of fun as a stooge. I loved all of the teasing of the spike. This also had an incredibly hot finish. I was borderline on this match seeing it clipped, but it is a definite pick unclipped.
July 27, 200718 yr comment_5419918 Kahn/Adams had some good stuff in it. Starting with Kahns facials and body language that were superb. Kahn working over the neck and throat of Adams was solid. The teasing of the spike was great. Kahn breaking the spike at 4 outside the ring was well executed. Kahn's 2nd rope knee drop kicked all sorts of ass. Adams sold really well, made good comebacks, and busted out his superkick which he does better than anyone. I thought Akbar working ringside helped. Akbars timing on his interference was spot on. I'm boderline on this match on inclusion though.
September 22, 200718 yr comment_5422155 Killer Khan working as Larry Zbyszko is pretty fun, but no. I had high expectations here and maybe that was the problem, but it was a fun match that falls just short of being disc worthy to me. I like the way they built Adams' comeback flurry at the end, but still no.
October 29, 200717 yr comment_5423287 I like the leit motif of having a Killer Khan match on every set. But this should go on for the finish. As Mid South (outside of Houston) has lots of neat near falls/reversals elaborate finishes. this on the other hand felt like an almost contemporary big moveset finish run.
October 31, 200717 yr comment_5423315 I'll put this in the next round and we'll see where it goes from there.
November 17, 200717 yr comment_5424075 “Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Killer Khan (9/9/84) Khan teasing the Oriental Spike as Adams would counter with the Superkick taunt before the bell rang was great. Khan brushing his shoulders off before slapping Adams then getting slapped was tremendous. Khan’s whole repetoire of selling and facial expressions prove that he was from the Lexington side of Mongolia. Khan would get tired of playing around and started stomping a mudhole in Adams before choking him and playing to the crowd. Khan would get a nearfall after a cross chop and kept up his attack by choking Adams on the top rope then the middle rope as Akbar had Ronnie West occupied. Adams would make a comeback firing punches then dropkicking Khan into the corner. Adams started pummeling Khan and hiptossed him out before going to a rear chinlock. Adams would get a nearfall after a series of moves then back to the rear chinlock with Khan shrieking but he would get out of it. Khan hits a big knee to the head before a Mongolian Chop then kicking Adams to the floor. Khan would club Adams as he gets on the apron and then caught Adams with a knee to the gut when he came back in. Khan would get a bodyslam and signaled for the Spike but Adams rolled to the floor. Khan would then put it on him anyway with Ronnie West forcing him to break the hold. Adams would rabbit punch Khan to the gut on the apron and got a sunset flip for a nearfall with the OKC fans going nuts. Adams would then catch Khan with a Superkick in the corner then another kick and then kicked Akbar. Khan would catch Adams in the throat and high a kneelift off the top rope for the victory. This was tremendous stuff with Adams looking great and Khan being a great showman. Definite nomination.
November 18, 200717 yr comment_5424083 I had it as a maybe on the clipped version but seeing it in full made a big difference.
