Mid South Wrestling Volume 092

Produced:7-25-85

Man was this a great episode of TV

"Hacksaw" Butch Reed VS. Ted DiBiase

Great back and forth TV match, DiBiase bumps all over the place for Reed, and they just go at it. Cool finish with Reed avoiding the deadly glove and getting the win, this makes a DVD set.

Watts & Duggan VS. "The Bounty Hunters"

Bounty Hunters are two huge guys, and this is a fun short heavyweight brawl with Bill Watts WALKING TALL

"Dirty" Dutch Mantell VS. Mike Graham

This isn't a match instead is a crazy brawl with basically the whole locker room, and it ends in Akbar burning Mike Graham

5th. "The Champion" VS. "Brickhouse" Brown

Fun semi-squash, Champion can whoop someone ass, isn't so good at competitive matches

6th. Steve "Dr. Death" Williams VS. Al Perez

This was a fun little competitive squash, Perez looked good doing amateur wrestling with Doc

7th. "Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdock VS. Mark Hawk

Humperdink calls out the injured Murdock, and he squashes Hawk. Mid South had some big fucking jobbers at this point, Hawk looked 6'2 280

Produced: 8-1-1985

All the Watts v. Akbar stuff is nicely summarized here, it might make a good extra

• “Hacksaw” Butch Reed vs. “Dirty” Dutch Mantell

Basically Mantell jumping Reed and trying to take him out for Flair's bounty

• “Captain Redneck” Dick Murdock vs. Humongous

This is Murdock getting squashed to put over Humongous as a monster, he does an amazing job bumping and bleeding to put over the really shitty guy. Not a disc worthy match, but a fun one man performance.

• 12. “The Champion”; The Nightmare vs. Jerry Backlund

Man does Jimmy Del Ray rule as a bumping jobber.

Mid-South TV Title: “Hacksaw” Butch Reed © vs. “Dirty” Dutch Mantell (7/31/85)

Dutch attacks Reed before the match with Shoebaby and lashes him good but Butch shrugs it all off then returns the favor to Dutch and Dundee when he shows up. Reed walks tall and this was a great segment

Lord Humongous vs. “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch (7/31/85)

Humongous debuts as Humperdink demands a match with Murdoch who thinks he is facing Nightmare but is facing the debuting Humongous. They get the mask over in that you can’t do anything to his head and then headbutts Murdoch which brings out the juice. Humongous just brutalizes Murdoch.

The Barbarian & Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs. Kent Glover & The Mongol (7/31/85)

Destruction.

Ted DiBiase vs. Wendell Cooley (7/31/85)

DiBiase looks great here.

Al Perez vs. Jerry Grey (7/31/85)

This is a fine little match.

The Nightmare vs. Jimmy Backlund (7/31/85)

Squash.
