September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929126 There seems to be conflicting reports about Nikki Cross being pulled off tonight's show due to precautionary measures (NXT COVID-19 outbreak; her being married to Kilian Dain, might've been exposed) but haven't seen anything confirmed yet. Judging by WWE's Twitter account, that one seems to be still on.
September 27, 20205 yr Author comment_5929128 Ýep, Smackdown's Women's and the Women's Tag Titles are off. Fuck
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929130 Wait, BOTH? No replacements at all? Edit: Nevermind, just read that WWE has been planning for a replacement for Nikki for the past couple of days.

September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929134 Hmm...so, it's either a preventive measure because one of the 4 got exposed. Who knows then...They're probably gonna book Bayley vs Alexa Bliss for the Smackdown Women's title to keep the tie-in with the original matchup.
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929137 I mean if the blonde in the mirror is Carmella and they are trying to make her a heel then it won't be her. I am guessing it will be Dana Brooke or Taminia for the easy win
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929138 Bit gutted that I won't see Baszler and Jax wreck shop tonight, but this card felt like it could trimmed some of the fat. Roman vs Jey is going to be a right barnburner.
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929141 Did Charly spoil the result of the RAW Tag Title match before that Andrade & Garza promo?
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929142 Hope Sammy wins tonight and doesn't get killed. He's great tv.
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929143 I had that match on and didn't watch a single second of it. "Good rasslin'" means nothing to me in a vacuum when I'm given no reason to care, no one is over or means anything, and the result is a foregone conclusion anyway. Granted, the result is also a foregone conclusion with the Reigns-Jey Uso match, but the difference is, I've been given plenty of reasons to care - and I do. Nakamura is past his prime, but imagine wasting and marginalizing Cesaro for as long as WWE has
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929145 It is that Nakamura is past his prime or that he is really only a great depending on his level of competition?

He's had exactly one good match in WWE, and that was his NXT debut against Sami Zayn. He's been disappointing ever since. So, either Zayn is the best wrestler in the company - even better than AJ Styles (and I'd agree to that, but AJ is no slouch) - or Nak has been on cruise control the whole time.
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929147 Amazing how simple booking done with talented workers can be so great. Almost as if we don't need stupid contrived shit like Retribution to arrest the business's downward slide.
September 27, 20205 yr Author comment_5929149 Nakamura's match against Gran Metallik was very damn good. It's not that he's past his prime - he is 100% cruising it more than Orton. And guys, I dunno, I love Cesaro but should he be a main eventer? Dude is just an insanely talented tag wrestler who works well with pretty much every single being on this planet. It's sad, they had huge momentum with him when he slammed the Big Show over the top rope, but that's it for him as a singles.
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929150 Jesus are we sure Jeff Hardy isn't back on drugs. Nobody should take the fall off the ladder spot that way
September 27, 20205 yr Author comment_5929151 Those ladder spots look FRAUDULENT when they are in front of a videogame crowd.
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929152 The commentary is so blatantly giving away that Jeff Hardy is winning.
September 27, 20205 yr comment_5929153 I wouldn't say Nakamura is past his prime. He's just happy to collect a big paycheck and go surfing whenever he wants. He's always been lazy in that way. I expect him to return to NJPW as a big time attraction with limited dates at some point. This ladder match has been fun. Most of the Covid-era ladder matches has been lackluster due to the lack of crowd, but these guys are making this work. Sami Zayn is a god damn treasure.
