His bachelor's degree in International Relations helps a lot. His group might be too big to be wrestling in such a pigsty such as the PC.

That backstage scene where the wrestlers are like "Oh, you're working the leg in your match? OK, we'll do something else."
October 5, 20204 yr comment_5929665 This might be the best NXT match in a while, tbh. Not just in terms of in-ring work, but of elevating the talent involved. Legado del Fantasma is very fucking good, Swerve FINALLY had a feud in which he looked fantastic, and as the cherry on top we have Adonis showing up with FIRE.
October 5, 20204 yr comment_5929666 Candice LeRae's promo is good. It would be better if she could actually act.
October 5, 20204 yr comment_5929667 Really hard to have a stand out cruisers match when everyone is having cruiser matches. Really liked the finish, came off surprisingly natural and uncontrived. Who the hell was the guy who run in to help Swerve? Never seen him before.

He's Ashante "Thee" Adonis. He was Tehuti Miles in the indies. He's been in the Cruiserweight division for a while. IIRC he wrestled Dream in the same episode KUSHIDA returned. Dude's good.

Kinda disappointing if so, because who the fuck is he?

Dude in the mystery videos is probably a past champ. Saw rumours of it being the better of the Rotunda brothers, which is interesting.

October 5, 20204 yr comment_5929674 It is kind of interesting how the WWE brand split never really worked how WWE wanted, with the feeling of the Monday Night Wars. With RAW & Smackdown being like WWE & WCW. But they still get the surprise/return pop when someone from the main roster goes back to NXT. Like Breeze, Fandango, Balor.
October 5, 20204 yr comment_5929677 This dumb trope of the ref being blind as a bat really needs to be updated. Made no difference ultimately, but still. Gargano's cartoonish reaction to the kickout was hysterical though.
October 5, 20204 yr comment_5929678 Like, why the fuck is Gargano moving to the main roster? To see him play a low-rate version of the Miz? To see him being HBK's mini? Gable probably towers him and he was renamed Shorty G. They're gonna rename him Nano Gargano.
October 5, 20204 yr comment_5929679 Needlessly overbooked that but I found it funny. Wrong person won.

It's a change, which is desperately needed. Even if he doesn't work out, he can return to NXT in two years a conquering hero and have dozens of fresh matches waiting for him.
October 5, 20204 yr comment_5929687 Thing is: he's had fresh match-ups and yet *he* feels stale. His whole act. Him turning heel was somewhat recent and yet feels like it's ran its course.
