This was completely awesome, best Scaffold match I have ever seen. All four guys are really great at almost falling spots, and they manage to do a ton of stuff while balancing on a scaffold. Both scaffold bumps were solid, and the whole thing was a great mix of danger and good wrestling

On the OVW MX set they have the date 12/2/84.This was pretty cool, and should make a disk for historic puposes. The heat when Eaton picked up Morton and slammed him on the scaffold was great. I guess the crowd thought he was going to toss him off the scaffold like a bag of potatoes. The modified backdrop that Eaton took was great. The comedy early on was good also. Gibson and Eaton doing the monkey bars were cool. It was a cool match.

Tom K's comments: Not sure how many scaffold matches we have...but this was pretty great...Robert Gibson/Dennis Condrey sections are a blast

 

I did not see the greatness in this match at all. The finish was pretty good and I always enjoy some blood but if the best thing you can say is this was better than other scaffold matches, that doesn't equate to "One of Mid South's best matches". I do agree that this was way better than most scaffold matches I have seen but not disc worthy.

 

We can take it to the next round based on Tom K's comments but I don't think this will end up on the set.

I think we have multiple scaffold matches between these two teams, I don't know if we neccisarily need all of them on the set, but I think one of them absolutely needs to be on.

We shouldn't put it on just to showcase a scaffold match... but because it is better than enough matches to warrant inclusion. Like I said, it will go to the next round for sure, and I can watch the other scaffold matches, but this didn't do for me what it did for you.

I could see one or possibly both making my top ten.

 

The JCP scaffold match between two teams is I think much shorter and has Lane instead of Condrey and wouldn't make anyones list of best JCP matchups between the two teams. You leave it going "ehh i'd rather see these two in a ring...what's even the point of this stip?"

 

The thing about watching the scaffold matches in MidSouth (as opposed to watching them in JCP-Starcade 87) is that I watch this match and go "Hey if I were a promoter I'd want to bring this match to my fed too".

If there is general concensus that both need to be included then we will include them. I already have this one in the "More than likely" column. I still don't get the greatness of the match but to each his own.

I think they are similar enough that you would only need one. More like the Watts/Duggan/Murdoch v. Devestation six-man tags, then the Ernie Ladd/MX v. R+R's/Duggan tags. I don't think we need two functionally equivelent touring matches even if they are both excellent

Where is the other scaffold match located at? I would not mind seeing it to see if that one was more enjoyable.

The match on MX2 is the same match as the house show. I'll look on the Brandon DVDs.

You only need one of the two as they are both pretty much the same exact match. Just a question of which you prefer the camera work in.

Scaffold Match for the Mid-South Tag Titles: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) (12/2/84)

 

This is from the Fairgrounds in OKC and this is a fantastic match for being on a scaffold. You could really tell they were playing with fire on some moves and there was even blood. The bumps off the scaffold were pretty great and the fans were loving all of this. Definite nomination.

You are going to hvae 200 definite nominations on a 150 match set.

I'd rather have 200 than 100
