Rock ‘n’ Roll Express & “Hacksaw” Butch Reed vs. “DR. Death” Steve Williams, Kamala & One Man Gang

This is the complete match which was JIP on PPW, I thought it made a disc JIP and definitely makes it full. Reed is really great at STANDING TALL at the beginning, throwing shots with Kamala. I loved the Kamala interactions with Gang, and Ricky Morton is great selling a bear hug

Rock ‘n’ Roll Express vs. “Dr. Death” Steve Williams & Edcar Thomas

This may be another Rock and Rolls which won't make the cut. The heels are pretty not good, and this is formula R+R's which rules, but we have the formula plenty of times with actual good heels.

Terry Taylor & “Hacksaw” Butch Reed vs. Ted Dibiase & Kamala

This was a blast, super hot Mid-South main event. I love the Kamala turns on his partner signature spot, and Reed and DiBiase are amazing against each other, with a spectacular punch exchange. Taylor is a fun face in peril too. Disc worthy for sure.

Brad Armstrong vs. Hercules

I wrote this when I saw this on PPW "Perfectly acceptible wrestling, maybe the best Hercules singles I have seen, but nothing special or disc worthy." I stand by that, Herc did have some impressive ups on his leapfrog

Really enjoyed the Kimchee trying to control the savage spots in both Kamala matches eventually leading to the Kamala hits partner spot.

the Kamala hits partner spot in the six man may have been too elaborate for its own good and led to a too abrupt finish for my taste...but still I wouldn't argue against anyone nominating it.

Really if someone wanted to go to wall for either Rock ‘n’ Roll Express vs. “Dr. Death” Steve Williams & Edcar Thomas or Hernandez v Brad Armstrong, I wouldn't argue against them either.

I'm not prepared to nominate either of those matches myself but someone else did, I wouldn't disagree.

I remember nominating the RNRoll match on the DVDVR board before the crash.I thought it was one of those great carry jobs that needed to be seen. Now in hindsight I don't think it should be nominated, but I wouldn't oppose it. If the project was top 100 carry jobs of the 80's I think it would be a lock. This match was better than some of the tags on the WWF set so I thought the match was discussion worthy; not neccisarily a nom worthy match.

“Hacksaw” Butch Reed & The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Kamala, One Man Gang, & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams (3/10/85)

That is quite the heel team and the faces coming out to “Naughty Naughty” by John Parr automatically makes this great. Reed talks mega shit before the match then just unloads on Kamala before a triple dropkick sends him to the floor. OKC is going nuts for this as Reed is a maniac. Reed would soon start unloading on Gang who would tag in Doc because Kamala didn’t want any part of Reed. Morton would of course be the FIP after a long dominance by the faces and he would take a beating. Gang would tag in Kamala by slapping him on the back which was a big mistake because Kamala would chop him before Doc would step in but Morton dropkicked Doc & Gang into Kamala theN Reed knocked Kamala over the top rope. Morton would then get the pin on Gang for the victory. This was a very fun match with Reed looking great and Morton getting his ass kicked. This should move forward.

Mid-South Tag Titles: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) © vs. Edcar “Boo” Thomas & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams (3/10/85)

This was a good match but Edcar still sucked here and Doc wasn’t quite at the level he would be later on.

“Hacksaw” Butch Reed & Terry Taylor vs. Ted DiBiase & Kamala (3/10/85)

Duggan was supposed to be Reed’s partner but he was jumped so Taylor takes his spot. Reed had a great day as he came to Tulsa ready to brawl and he starts kicking Kamala’s ass again along with DiBiase. Taylor is the FIP and takes a beating but like the previous Kamala match he wants to do his own thing as he doesn’t understand the tag format. DiBiase misses his diving fistdrop giving Taylor the chance to make the hot tag to Reed who comes in unloading on DiBiase. DiBiase tries to tag Kamala but he walks away although Akbar would jab his riding crop into Reed’s neck giving the heels a reprieve that wouldn’t last long as Reed would hit a backdrop suplex on DiBiase. DiBiase tried to tag Kamala but slapped him on the arm so Kamala nailed him. Taylor tags back in and we have a slugfest then a ref bump so DiBiase loads up the glove and hits Kamala by accident but would hit Taylor. Kamala then nailed DiBiase in response and Reed knocked him out of the ring with Taylor putting his arm on DiBiase for the pinfall. Great stuff and this moves forward.

Brad Armstrong vs. Hercules Hernandez (3/10/85)

Okay match nothing special.
