Posted August 10, 200718 yr comment_5420377 This was a pretty fun brawl, with both guys throwing each other into chairs, and pounding toe to toe. Finish was slightly unsatisfying, with Duggan running in, but this was wild enough to make a DVD
August 17, 200718 yr comment_5420806 I thought this was good. These guys had a few good matches with each other around the Mid-South horn. I feel you need to have some matches with a Kamala,Missing Link type on these disks. Kamala was really agile here. He take a hard irish-whip into the guard rail. Taylor is full of piss & Vinegar here. I thought Taylor working the leg was kinda neat; especially with Kamala's selling of it. Kamala was working the neck/throat area which was good. Kamala had some large motioning strikes. Overall, pretty neat. I wouldn't be suprised by how poorly this does on the ballot when it gets voted on in the poll because of the thought process of Kamala isn't a good worker. If this gets on a disk. I think it should. He was really good at working his gimmick.
August 17, 200718 yr comment_5420807 Man, when compiling footage for my upcoming Taylor comp, I must have missed the memo on the Kamala love. I just don't see it. I enjoyed the Duggan matches much more because of the overall feud but i am just not enthralled by his in ring work. I think his Lawler matches were pretty fun though.
November 7, 200717 yr comment_5423641 Tom K's comments... Outside run in finish is shitty finish and well this is a fed with lots of great great finishes. But great brawl and deserving of being on the set. Will's comments... this was much better than I expected it to be but I don't think it is disc worthy. This will go to the next round but I had a problem with a couple of things. First, Kimala completely no-sold the 5-arm which isn't how you treat the finisher of your champion. Even if Taylor could have gotten a 2 count out of it, it would have been so much better. The finish sucked and, as Tom said, this is a company with some great finishes.
November 8, 200717 yr comment_5423667 Not so sure how early in the discussion I said that. But is this Houston? Cause while Houston has the longer matches, it really is the home of dissapointing finishes. Was Boesch booking the Houston finishes? As there is a world of difference between those finishes and finishes anyplace else.
November 8, 200717 yr comment_5423671 I don't think it was Houston. I am sure Kris Z can fill us in on the correct location.
December 3, 200717 yr comment_5424748 Ugandan Death Match for the North American Heavyweight Title: Terry Taylor © vs. Kamala (4/16/85) This is from New Orleans and it’s a wild brawl with Kamala being mad as hell at Taylor because he piledrove Friday on the floor putting him out of action. Kamala throws some bombs here but Taylor hangs with him in his own way and they throw each other around the ringside area with Taylor acting like as much of a maniac as Kamala. Kamala would really start pounding on Taylor but he would make a comeback hitting the five-arm but Kamala would fight back although he would miss a splash. Taylor would jump on Kamala’s back for a sleeper then Akbar would come in the ring to hit Taylor with the riding crop as Carl Fergie has been taken out. Kamala would climb up top but Duggan would hit him in the back with the 2x4 then hit Akbar clearing the ring. Kamala and Akbar would then turn tail and leave as the fans go nuts which means the finish worked then. This was fun stuff and should move forward.
