DiBiase does commentary and blames Conway outsmarting him on the fact that he had never faced him before and didn’t know what was coming. Once again in a Conway match shots to the head don’t mean much due to his hard head although DiBiase kept on going there and finally was effective with his punches. DiBiase uses a reverse chinlock most of the match to weaken Conway and his explanation on commentary on the reason why he uses it was really good. Conway’s comeback is good with crisp punches and DiBiase bumping and selling greatly especially for the headbutt and the block of the headbutt off the top rope was nice. DiBiase loads up the glove and nails him in the head for the 3 count. Fun match but nothing special. Kamala vs. El Silencio (11/24/82) Silencio has no chance. Mr. Olympia & Iron Mike Sharpe vs. John & Rick Davidson (11/24/82) Olympia & Sharpe work pretty good as a team here. Mr. Wrestling II vs. Marty Lunde (11/24/82) II takes Lunde to the learning tree. Bob Roop vs. Mike Bond (11/24/82) Bob fuckin Roop and he takes care of Bond with a wicked looking brainbuster.. The best part about this match was Watts on commentary talking about some spot show promoter in Arkansas being at the taping and telling JYD who was also there that when he was able to return to the ring, he would give him a big watermelon. Hiro Matsuda & Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Tim Horner & King Cobra (11/24/82) Quite the interesting match here. Matsuda working barefoot is always badass. Short match and the Japanese dominated before the TV draw. Stagger Lee vs. Marty Lunde (11/24/82) Lunde has to job again for Stagger Lee. Kamala vs. King Cobra (11/24/82) Squash. Mr. Wrestling II vs. Yoshiaki Yatsu (11/24/82) II is taking care of Yatsu before Kamala runs in the ring and tries to take II’s mask off before Stagger Lee makes the save and slams Kamala. Kamala gets up though and starts to take Lee’s mask. Olympia comes in and joins the fray making Kamala leave. Matt Borne & Ted DiBiase vs. Mr. Olympia & Iron Mike Sharpe (11/24/82) Now this was a fun match and the more I watch Borne & DiBiase the more I am impressed as they were really a great team. Olympia & Sharpe weren’t that bad either and both looked really good here. This was a fast paced match no real dull spots as it was all action. Great finish as Borne hits the Bombs Away off the top rope behind the ref’s back with DiBiase covering for the win. Another maybe nomination. Chavo Guerrero vs. Bobby Jaggers (Sometime in October 1982) This is from Houston and also a complete match. Chavo was such a great worker too bad there isn’t more of his early stuff around. Jaggers was really good here too as a bumping fool. Princess Victoria vs. Leilani Kai (11/24/82) Odd to see women working for Mid-South. Hacksaw Duggan vs. Mike Bond (11/24/82) Squash.
October 17, 200717 yr comment_5422856 It is pretty cool they were showing complete Houston stuff, too bad they didn't keep doing that. Both Yatsu and Arn sold II's knee drop like death. I liked Chavo v. Jaggers a ton although it isn't disc worthy. Matt Borne & Ted DiBiase vs. Mr. Olympia & Iron Mike Sharpe (11/24/82) I am going to go ahead and nominate this. I enjoyed all of Sharpe's awkward power stuff which DiBiase and Borne sold like kings. Also Borne's bombs away was brutal looking here, and I always love me some Mr. Olympia. I could see this going by the wayside when we cull down to 150, but it makes the cut for now

The best part about this match was Watts on commentary talking about some spot show promoter in Arkansas being at the taping and telling JYD who was also there that when he was able to return to the ring, he would give him a big watermelon. I was just reading an obituary of Rufus R. Jones yesterday online. Someone recalled that Rufus was a little hard to understand sometimes, and he said things that didn't seem to make a lot of sense. For example, claiming that he had a "big watermelon" in his pocket. This wasn't a smutty claim, but rather referred to a big wad of cash. So don't think that JYD could be bribed with large and stereotypical pieces of fruit.
