Posted August 15, 200718 yr comment_5420627 This was a pretty solid match. The crowd was with it the whole time. Jake has the crowd right at the begginning of the match. A cool aspect of the match was Teddy pulling Jake's hair a couple of times. Jake then returns the favor and pulls Ted's hair to a huge pop. This wouldn't be a babyface Jake match without him teasing the DDT. Jake sold a lot of the way and made a pretty fired up comeback. The finish was neat because Ted goes to load the glove and drops the load and bends over to pick it up. While he's bent over Jake sneaks over and nailed him with the DDT. I think this is a low end nomination. It's a good match, but I've seen them have better with one another.
August 26, 200718 yr comment_5421202 Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs. Ted DiBiase (7/28/85) The crowd is totally nuts for Jake here. I love the early part of the match because it plays into the fact that DiBiase & Jake are trying to outsmart each other because they were known as two of the best chess players in the business. They do a lot of the same stuff they do when they start their tag matches around this time and there was a spot here when Jake had DiBiase in a headlock and DiBiase rolled over and referee Tony Torres actually counted three but no one noticed. Teddy does all his usual stuff during the heat section and Jake does a great job selling. Jake makes his comeback firing his rapid punches which was great before Teddy threw him into the referee. DiBiase then goes to load his glove but drops his object and Jake nails him with the DDT for the win. I loved the finish and this was a fun match. Nomination on my end.

October 28, 200718 yr comment_5423203 Definitely include it. The best Jake/DiBiase I've seen personally, and it doesn't hurt that I'm also a big mark for outdoor wrestling shows.
