Handicap Match: One Man Gang vs. Terry Gibbs & Tony Torres (4/14/82)

 

OMG just toys with them.

 

“Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch vs. Bob Roop (4/14/82)

 

This is a non-title match. Murdoch returns from injury and has taken over Killer Karl Kox’s gimmick as a crazy Marine. Murdoch pulled his trunks out of his knapsack and put them on before getting in the ring and yes he was bare assed. Murdoch’s elbow smashes were once again awesome and this was nothing but a flat out fight. Roop gets knocked to the floor after a punch and Murdoch puts on his helmet grabs the trenching tool and KO’s Akbar. Murdoch then chases Roop around and Roop runs to the back for the countout. This was fun as hell.

 

Paul Orndorff vs. Tully Blanchard (4/14/82)

 

Quite the interesting matchup here. This was a very solid back and forth match and Tully using the figure-four on Orndorff is a great touch considering Orndorff mastering the reversal. Bob Roop then jumps off the top rope on Orndorff for the DQ.

 

Iron Mike Sharpe vs. Hacksaw Higgins (4/14/82)

 

Jim Ross on commentary giving Sharpe a verbal blowjob was the best part of this match.

 

The Assassin & Ernie Ladd vs. The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) (4/14/82)

 

The Assassin reveals before the match in an awesome promo that Akbar gave him more money to turn on Ladd than to team with Ladd so Ladd decides to go find another partner who ends up being Iron Mike Sharpe. The match is nothing but a brawl until The Assassin comes out and loads up the mask and headbutted Sharpe then goes for Ladd but Orndorff comes back. Orndorff & Ladd clean house and Orndorff was awesome as a babyface at this time.

 

Harley Race vs. Terry Taylor (1980)

Jesse Barr vs. Buddy Landell (4/14/82)

 

It ends in a TV draw.

 

Paul Orndorff vs. Hacksaw Higgins (4/14/82)

 

Orndorff looked good here.

Good match and Alfred Neely gets involved just like most referees do in women’s matches.

 

Tully Blanchard & Bob Roop vs. Cocoa Samoa & Buddy Landell (4/14/82)

 

Now that’s a good heel team there. The faces looked really good too as they got some offense and the heels sold for them. The heels worked great together too and Roop especially looked great with a beautiful high kneelift.

Decent match with Assassin winning with the headbutt.

 

Junkyard Dog, “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch, & Mr. Olympia vs. One Man Gang & The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) (4/14/82)

 

This is quite the TV main event here. The crowd goes absolutely apeshit when JYD knocks OMG over the top rope with a soupbone and it’s nothing but a wild brawl. Murdoch goes and gets his trenching tool which he uses on all the heels as TV time runs out.

Nothing disc worthy here, although I would like to see a longer Roop v. Murdoch, Paul Orndorf with a hairy chest is creepy
