Good finish too as Cocoa tried to hit a 180 splash off the middle rope but Roop catches him and hits a belly-to-belly. Paul Orndorff vs. Mike Boyer (Mike Boyette) (3/31/82) Orndorff has just turned babyface and he is great in this role because he has lots of fire and gets the crowd behind him. Orndorff was a great worker in this time and he was someone who was in consideration for a NWA World Title run. Boyer was quite the great bumper here too. The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) vs. Jesse Barr & Buddy Landell (3/31/82) Samoans dominate but Landell got some offense in. One Man Gang vs. Ricky Ferrara (3/31/82) Squash. Junkyard Dog & Mr. Olympia vs. Tully Blanchard & Wayne Ferris (3/31/82) Yet another interesting heel team with Tully and the future Honky Tonk Man. Watching JYD here, it’s amazing how much weight he gained in like a 6-8 month time span as right here he was in fantastic shape. Fun match and JYD & Olympia were a great team. Iron Mike Sharpe vs. Ron Cheatham (3/31/82) Sharpe wins quick. One Man Gang vs. Mike Boyer (3/31/82) Squash. The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) vs. Buddy Landell & Iron Mike Sharpe (3/31/82) Poor Landell getting the Samoans twice in one day. Sharpe gets quite a bit of offense in though making this match actually pretty competitive. Landell showed fire though. Tully Blanchard vs. Cocoa Samoa (3/31/82) Good back and forth TV match with both men looking good. Cocoa hit a fantastic sunset flip from the apron for a nearfall with Watts calling him a monkey. Junkyard Dog vs. Wayne Ferris (3/31/82) Ferris brings some of the southern heel work here with stalling and stooging which at this time in Mid-South was uncommon. JYD gets pissed of this and makes quick work of Ferris. Bob Roop vs. Jesse Barr (3/31/82) Two amateur legends meet up here and they have a really solid technical wrestling match. I really loved this match and Roop adds his evil pro wrestling style to this. The only thing is that it wasn’t long at all but I want Phil & Tom’s opinion on this as a possible nom. Mr. Olympia vs. Ron Cheatham (3/31/82) Olympia once again looks great.
October 17, 200717 yr comment_5422887 Man does Bob Roop rule , I loved both of his matches. Still I think Roop v. Barr was a little short to make a disc. I'll show it Tomk, but I am leaning no
