Yeah this isn't really a Fantastics match or even a Duggan match this is an all MX shtick match and it rules. Really Cornette is a big part of the MX and this is the most Cornettish of the MX matches as he is a weasily motherfucker that you want to see beat up. Whole match is built around Hacksaw wanting to get hold of Cornette, and you never get the payoff. I mean Cornette takes an enormous bump getting tossed in the ring but doesn't get touched really after that bump.

I agree this was a great MX showcase. Too bad a great match was hampered with such a shitty ending. On its own, the match leaves you with a bad taste because of the Hercules interference but knowing that Cornette ends up getting his head shaved as a result of a Hercules-Duggan match makes it A-Ok. Another definite nomination.

Hacksaw Duggan & The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. The Midnight Express (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) & Jim Cornette (7/20/84)

MX & Cornette were awesome here and they had great opponents for this type of match. Sure the finish was screwy but this was a long-term feud so it was fine in the long run. Easy nomination.
