I watch BTE every week and I still think they're playing some of these shifts in too subtle ways to work on a national TV show.

Yeah I never watch BTE. If they're working angles on their youtube show and then never mentioning it on TV and assuming that people will get it, that's just as bad as assuming that the casual viewer tuning in to see Shaq will know who Onita is. They need to explain these things. Either through the commentators or vignettes or something.

To be fair about BTE, they really don't do much angles at all. It's really goofy parallel stuff. I'd say about 10% of it really relates to the actual storylines in a "canon" way (like, I don't think the Good Brothers giving Cutler some viagra while he's sleeping at the hospital can be considered "canon", you see). But those 10% are indeed fun for those who watch, because it can be teases of things that are to come. It's mostly goofing around though, but it for sure allows some people to showcase their personality. That's how John Silver got himself over. To which audience exactly, I don't know, but Silver for sure is where he is know because he was so damn funny on those Dark Order bits on BTE.

Kurt Angle made it to the Observer HoF in 2006. There was enough of an uproar that it led to Dave Meltzer, who is not exactly known for being very flexible about what he thinks is correct, to modify the eligibility criteria.

The intriguing part of all this is while WWE has trained us all not to expect much from BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS, Tony's been pretty strong on not hyping up something that doesn't deserve it. When not only the TV show but he himself personally is pushing this as a big deal, it makes me think they really do have a OMG WTF moment up their sleeves.

Tbh I don't think there's anyone out there who would evoke that reaction in me. Unless they get like, Cena

Worthy of HOF is pretty subjective, honestly... I mean, with all due respect, Koko B Ware is in the HOF...

I guess the rumors are gonna be about Lesnar now, since he has basically vanished from the surface of this Earth for so long now. Come on people, bitch about that one and then it doesn't happen anyway.

People would bitch because they would not introduce him to the mainstream audience. Who cares what the mainstream audience understands or not, fuck them. This is hardcore pro-wrestling shit. Everybody should know who Volk Han is anyway.

I had no idea who Volk Han was until his name was lighting up the threads here. But my pro wrestling fandom is better off for it now.

I mean if AEW hypes this up as much as they are and it ends up being someone like Christian (no offense to him), it's going to burn a lot of the goodwill they have with their fans. The biggest thing they have going for them is they don't bullshit the fans when it comes to delivering what they promised.

It did a lot of looking into it. And people in AEW even think it will be Christian.

I don't really understand why Christian would be a letdown. Social media lost their minds for his cameo in the Royal Rumble this year and he's a perennial "smart mark" favourite.

In terms of the ladder match, I thought it would be "Speedball" Mike Bailey but he played that down today. He was banned for 5 years for illegally entering the US to wrestle from Canada and his ban is up this month. But there's still a lot of red tape involved to get back into the US:
