Great, great match and a slamdunk
August 21, 200718 yr comment_5420937 Yeah this is pretty good. Like Phil I liked the amateur exchanges early in the match. Watts did a pretty good job getting this over on commentary. The arm work done by the babyfaces with the quick tags was well done. This match was worked real smart. I also liked how Watts was using examples of upsets throughout his commentary. Those German Suplexes that Doc took from Perez were just nasty. Plus, the finish was just awesome. I think it should make a disk. Mid-South had so many great tag matches.
November 9, 200718 yr comment_5423701 Al Perez & Wendell Cooley vs. Dr. Death & Bob Sweetan (8/30/85) (TV 94) (4:52)(5:00)(7:21) (17:13) (add Sweetan jump) I need to find a way to include the Doc/Dibiase turn on Sweetan and this match may be the perfect lead-in. Perez and Cooley aren't as subar as they have been in other matches an I think this might really surprise some people. Good pick.
November 22, 200718 yr comment_5424376 Mid-South Tag Titles: “Bruiser” Bob Sweetan & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams vs. Wendell Cooley & Al Perez (8/28/85) Barbarian & Jake come out wanting their shot at Doc & Sweetan and it’s made for next week but the fly in the ointment is in the ring on the other side. This is one of the longest TV matches ever that goes through a couple of breaks and it is a damn good match with everyone looking great. The underdog story of Cooley & Perez who never teamed on TV before until this match was great. The whole finishing sequence was really good and the fans loved it. Definite nomination.
