• Al Perez & Wendell Cooley vs. “Superstar” Bill Dundee & “Dirty” Dutch Mantell

For guys who kind of suck Perez and Cooley are pretty consistently in fun matches. Dundee and Mantell are such nasty fucks, and they are just ripping at Cooley’s face, kicking and punching him right in the mouth and eyes. The finish is great too, as Dundee gets bullwhipped off the top rope. It is funny how Dundee and Mantell totally smoke the MX, why isn't Dundee a HOF candidate?

Mid-South Tag Titles: Wendell Cooley & Al Perez © vs. “Superstar” Bill Dundee & “Dirty” Dutch Mantell (9/11/85)

I think the Fantastics or Barbarian/Jake would’ve been better picks for the champs but Cooley & Perez at this point were having some good matches. Dundee & Dutch are so great at being on the defense and the offense here especially on the offense as they just pound the fuck out of Cooley. Perez looks good getting the hot tag taking it to the heels and yet we have another ref bump so Dutch uses Shoebaby on the back of Perez’s head. Cooley & Dundee then fight over the whip and Cooley would whip Dundee off the top rope. Perez would then put Dundee in a German Suplex for the win. This was a very fun match and should move forward. I do understand what Will is saying but I don't think these two teams worked on a house show.
