Lots of suplexes and fun exchanges in this, and a big hot finish. I am throwing this on the nomination bandwagon see how it goes.
September 3, 200718 yr comment_5421442 I think this does belong on a disk. It was a nice give and take match. Slater controls the early part of the match with some tight looking neck work on Doc. Doc eventually makes a comeback. In this section Doc throws some wicked looking forearms at Slater. I thought Doc's high impact offense looked great especially in contrast to Slater's smarter work. Good match that should find itself on a disk.

September 3, 200718 yr comment_5421444 I agree with your assesment. I feel it falls a hair short, but Damn close to making a disk in my eyes. It had some neat stuff in it, just not enough.
November 9, 200717 yr comment_5423743 (Bollom 5.1) (10:07) Fun match but after watching Doc-Buzz, the bar has been raised on Doc singles matches. This should not make the final cut.
November 26, 200717 yr comment_5424527 Mid-South TV Title Tournament: “Mr. Unpredictable” Dick Slater vs. “Dr. Death” Steve Williams (12/18/85) This started out really even and it was great seeing Doc starting his babyface run and the Tulsa crowd going apeshit for him. Slater would get the advantage and looked really strong keeping Doc on the ground but he couldn’t lock in a Boston Crab on Doc because of his lower body strength which was awesome. Doc threw an awesome forearm that had Slater rockin then a headbutt as the Fairgrounds goes nuts. Slater would come back though and would get Doc in a sleeper that Doc would get out of by running Slater into the turnbuckle. Doc would hit two running tackles on Slater but Slater would headbutt Doc sending them both to the mat. Slater would go for the figure-four but Doc would punch him off then would hit a suplex followed by the Oklahoma drill for a nearfall. Doc would hit the Stampede but Slater’s foot was on the ropes so Doc pulled him out for a Boston Crab but Dark Journey raked Doc’s eyes. Slater would go to suplex Doc but he would reverse then Slater would reverse with an O’Connor Roll with tights to get the win. This was a blast and a definite nomination.
