Posted September 5, 200718 yr comment_5421523 The first show on this disc is the 1981 year in review with angles and highlights. Brian Blair vs. The Monk (1/6/82) Blair looked good here. Andre the Giant, Dusty Rhodes, & Junkyard Dog vs. Ernie Ladd & The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) (1/6/82) This is a dream match voted on by the fans and it was pretty fun for the short time it lasted. The heels are quite the bumpers here too. Mr. Olympia vs. Carlos Zapata (1/6/82) Squash. Ed Wiskowski vs. Tommy Wright (1/6/82) Squash. “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch vs. Bob Roop (1/6/82) Murdoch was great here and Roop was just as good selling everything. Murdoch doing the Ali Shuffle was tremendous. Roop was a cheating fuck here pulling Murdoch’s hair and biting his fingers relentlessly. Roop threw some pretty great punches here too and Murdoch of course threw tremendous punches and elbows. Murdoch goes for the brainbuster but Orndorff pulls his leg from under him but Murdoch kicks out. Orndorff tries to trip Murdoch again but Murdoch jumps in the air as he hits the ropes in a great spot so Orndorff can’t trip him and he pops both men. Roop gets an O’Connor Rool on Murdoch but gets shoved into Orndorff but Orndorff finally succeeds hitting an elbow drop until DiBiase runs him off. This was great fun and a borderline nomination. Ernie Ladd has bought out some contracts leading to the next match. The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) vs. Jesse Barr & Frank Monte (1/6/82) And it ends up being a squash. Mike George vs. Bob Orton Jr. (1/6/82) This was a hard hitting match from the bell that George wins quickly with his russian legsweep. Ladd & Samoans then come out followed up by Dusty & JYD who run them off.

Andre v. Ladd was really fun to see “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch vs. Bob Roop (1/6/82) This wasn't as awesome as I was hoping it would be, although Murdoch's six inch punch was enough to put it on a disc. I also was digging all the diget manipulation, and Murdoch jumping over Orndorffs hand. I love me some Bob Roop
