Junkyard Dog vs. Iron Sheik (1/6/82) Akbar challenged JYD to come out and he did. They brawled for a while then Akbar got involved but JYD still got the win. Skandor Akbar tells everyone that the Iron Sheik can’t make his match with Junkyard Dog because he was called back to Iran. In all truth he left Mid-South and went to Florida. (1/20/82) The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) vs. Jesse Barr & Tommy Wright (1/6/82) Squash. Mike George vs. Carlos Zapata (1/20/82) Squash. Mississippi Heavyweight Title: Bob Orton Jr. © vs. Mr. Olympia (1/20/82) This started out great with lots of offense based around Olympia’s headscissors and Orton trying to get out of it. Both men were just so fluid here in everything they did. Orton nearly murdered Olympia with a clothesline off the middle rope, as he was about to fall off. Orton tried to get a piledriver on Olympia but Olympia countered with a sunset flip and Olympia soon locked in the sleeper for the victory. Borderline nomination here. Ted DiBiase & “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch vs. Paul Orndorff & Bob Roop (1/20/82) This should be good stuff depending on the time given. The fans were really into this as this was a fast paced match with both teams showing a lot of intensity. DiBiase hit a tremendous powerslam following up with the figure-four that Orndorff reverses, which is the big angle here between these guys. Orndorff has tremendous leverage here but DiBiase won’t give up and turns it back over. Roop comes in and so does Murdoch who has the ref occupied enough so Roop drops an elbow on DiBiase. Orndorff hits a running knee on Murdoch knocking the ref to the floor then Orton runs in and hits an awesome piledriver on DiBiase. Orndorff then goes for one of his own but DiBiase backdrops him and Murdoch hits a brainbuster on Orton pinning him for the 3 count even though he wasn’t in the match. Great fun but short. Ed Wiskowski vs. Terry Daniels (1/20/82) Squash. Bill Ash vs. Frank Monte (1/20/82) Not bad and it ends in a draw. “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch vs. Tom Renesto Jr. (1/20/82) Squash but a fun one. The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) vs. Terry Daniels & Frank Monte (1/20/82) Squash. Brian Blair vs. Carlos Zapata (1/20/82) Another spotlight match for Blair. Mike George & Junkyard Dog vs. Paul Orndorff & Bob Orton Jr. (1/20/82) It’s a brawl at the bell but it eventually becomes a normal match. Great bumping and selling by both heels especially on JYD’s headbutts. It turns out to be a really good competitive match that ends after JYD hits the big Thump on Orton. Mississippi Heavyweight Title: Mr. Olympia © vs. Ed Wiskowski (1/20/82) Good little match that Olympia wins with the sleeper. Ted DiBiase vs. Bob Roop (1/20/82) Orndorff tells the ref to get lost basically and he becomes the referee for the match but DiBiase will have none of it. This ends up being 2-on-1 until Murdoch makes the save making it a wild brawl. Bill Ash vs. Ricky Ferrara (1/20/82) This ends in a draw.
October 17, 200717 yr comment_5422882 I liked both tag matches alot, although they weren't disc length. I was digging the fuck out of all the Olympia Muga shit, but I think I am going to lean no with that match.
