Posted September 7, 200718 yr comment_5421591 Totally Memphis match, with Gilbert breaking out a ton of great heel shtick (pulling the tights on the ab stretch, hugging Taras Bulba) and Koko showing great babyface fire, including some awesome comeback punches. I loved this, and am nomming it.
November 5, 200717 yr comment_5423513 No surprise I am a fan of Eddie Gilbert. Phil touched on the Eddie highlights but didn't mention his great selling. For an opponnent like Koko who is comparable in size and stature, Eddie sells quite differently than he would if he were facing someone like Dr. Death or Jerry Lawler. I really liked this match but have no idea where this match would end up on my ballot. I am afraid it might get lost in the shuffle. I need to see the Tulsa match to se eif there are any inherent differences or if one outshines the other.
November 28, 200717 yr comment_5424604 Koko Ware vs. “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert (2/28/86) I loved their TV match and this one is even better. This was just a great match that was a lot of fun with both men shining in their own way. Easy nomination.
