Posted November 24, 20213 yr comment_5968955 Considering that we are in november, who is/are the MVP/best wrestler/s in the world in 2021? Who is the wrestler that produced more than anybody great matches? Thank you very much
November 24, 20213 yr comment_5968956 Your username gives us the best possible answer, really. But other than Bryan, we have the usual suspects in Roman and Omega. I'd argue Sheamus, Lashley, Drew and Big E all had incredible years as well. Miro's run as TNT Champ was for a long time the best part of AEW to me, and the matches delivered most of the time - not to mention the promos!
November 24, 20213 yr comment_5968959 Kenny Omega. Amazing title reign, great big match worker, great gimmick worker, great TV worker against a variety of different opponents. Great heel champion, great reign that led to the perfect passing of the torch. The best championship reign in pro-wrestling since the Okada big ace reign. This year has solidified his GOAT contendership.
November 24, 20213 yr comment_5968962 I think I’ve personally enjoyed Darby Allin more than any other wrestler but I really haven’t watched enough other 2021 wrestling to speak authoritatively on it, I’m afraid. Just want to say Darby owns
November 24, 20213 yr comment_5968963 Eddie Kingston is in my #1 and #2 match, along with a great match with Miro and some very cool tags
November 24, 20213 yr comment_5968965 It's down to Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan or Miro for me. And I'm leaning toward Reigns or Miro because I've enjoyed so much of their non-wrestling stuff too. Miro's redeemer gimmick & Roman's Tribal Chief have both been great.
November 24, 20213 yr comment_5968969 CM Punk's current run is the one I've enjoyed the most. I've liked Darby Allin the most over the course of the year.
November 24, 20213 yr comment_5968974 Even with that 4 month "break", it's still Danielson for me. Takuya Nomura would be my n°2.
November 25, 20213 yr comment_5968998 I still lean Shingo Takagi given his number of high end matches and being active all year. But Bryan's versatility against a number of opponents gives him a run for his money.
November 25, 20213 yr comment_5969039 I have to shout out Syuri, Josh Alexander, and Katsuhiko Nakajima for this. These three this year have produced great matches in their companies, so great some are considered MOTY.
November 25, 20213 yr comment_5969042 Most outstanding it's either Syuri, Shingo Takagi, or Tam Nakano. Wrestler of the year is either Kenny Omega, Shingo Takagi or Tam Nakano.
November 25, 20213 yr comment_5969043 Shingo, Dragon and Omega on my ballot with pretty big gaps between each.
November 25, 20213 yr comment_5969046 Shingo, Kenny and Roman had the most pressure on them, and they all delivered.
November 25, 20213 yr comment_5969057 RAW is often a chore and WWE's presentation is so off-putting even for a forum "hardcore" as this which can easily watch blurriest fancams. But the likes of Drew, Sheamus and Riddle really put in a shift on a week to week basis. It is really depressing how pointless their personal efforts are in the ring are. Kenny and Tam Nakano are my picks if you are talking about wrestlers that wrestled consistently. I don't think there should be too much hand wringing about Danielson. Yes, he had time off but he still was the dude that saved the main event fricken Wrestlemania in terms of interest/chemistry. And has been so otherworldly captivating in his AEW run.
November 25, 20213 yr comment_5969067 I know that no one watches NXT UK weekly but as of right now A-Kid is my WOTY and my pick for best in the world. He's very good at selling, submissions, strikes, and all the subtleness in a match where someone can appreciate. My MOTY is the Devlin/A-Kid Iron Man Match which was phenomenal. He's had matches with WALTER, Tyler Bate, Devlin, Dragunov which were all incredible.
November 26, 20213 yr comment_5969081 Bryan was the best wrestler in WWE, took 4 months off, then returned as the best wrestler in AEW. He'd get my vote. I was really enjoying Roman for the first half of the year but then the act started to wain, WWE ran out of interesting babyfaces and I was really disappointed in the Brock match. I've found Japan to largely be unwatchable in 2021, but Syuri has been fantastic whenever I've checked out her matches.
November 27, 20213 yr comment_5969094 Has to be Danielson for me, but the only promotion I have watched regularly is AEW.

November 27, 20213 yr Author comment_5969116 Meltzer about the comparison Danielson vs Kota Ibushi stated: "Today Danielson and it isn't even close. For a career Ibushi, and it also isn't even close." So he said that Ibushi has been way better than Danielson considering entire career? How would you comment that?
November 27, 20213 yr comment_5969141 There's a strong argument to be made, the more I think on it, but it depends on your personal preferences above all. Ibushi rose to prominence doing comedy and was taken seriously because HE WAS INCREDIBLE doing it, to the point where you wanted to see him work a serious show. When he did? He was just as incredible, and he's been delivering high quality work his entire career. But when I think of everything I love about pro wrestling? It's Danielson. And not even close. He was putting on technical wrestling clinics with only a couple years under his belt, connected with an international audience through both personality AND work, and was able to overcome the myriad of garbage booking that WWE tossed his way for years. He was the focal point of ROH during its peak years of importance and delivered with any and all, drew high quality matches out of mediocre talents, and has only gotten better since returning from a once-thought career ending series of injuries. Ibushi is great. Danielson is one of the absolute greatest.
November 28, 20213 yr comment_5969217 Meltzer has always preferred style over substance and a guy with Ibushi’s arc fits right into his narrative. And there are a ton of folks who think Bryan’s decade in the WWE was a waste of time.
November 28, 20213 yr comment_5969219 Danielson and Ibushi are two sides of the same coin if you think about it. They both overcame the size/indy stigma to become main eventers in their country's biggest pro wrestling promotion. They both work a high-risk style that has led to serious injuries. And they're both known for working matches with inanimate objects (Ibushi with Yoshihiko, Danielson with The Miz).
