Koko Ware vs. Rob Rechsteiner (3/2/86)

This is from the OKC Myriad and a fine little match. Koko was just so great and Steiner was coming along nicely here.

The Blade Runners (Rock & Sting) vs. Sean O’Reilly & Brett Sawyer (3/2/86)

Squash and Sting was still working as Flash here.

Dick Slater announces that he has made a new UWF TV Title belt and since he is a double champion, he has given the title to Buzz Sawyer, which would lead to quite the twist as Bill Watts drawed up a contract where Slater would sign away his right to defend a title to Sawyer against Hacksaw Duggan. Dark Journey told Slater to read it but he said that he trusts Watts, which was a mistake as Watts signed for the title to be defended as the North American Heavyweight Title. Sawyer said that he would beat Duggan anyday but Slater came in the ring crying about the whole situation and he was kicked out of the building. Slater would go on to lose both titles in one day without even being in the ring. This was a great angle that is a definite extra. (3/16/86)

North American Heavyweight Title: “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer © vs. Hacksaw Duggan (3/16/86)

This is a brawl from the bell as Duggan has taped ribs selling the beating from last week with the chain and he just goes apeshit on Buzz. Duggan nearly kills him on a clothesline and keeps taking it to Buzz but misses a spear and goes running through the ropes to the floor. Buzz starts attacking the ribs and bloodies up Duggan’s nose hardway. Buzz misses a diving body press from the top rope and Duggan hits the spear for the victory. Duggan finally wins the gold and the Myriad goes bonkers. Fun stuff that should go on as an extra because the match wasn’t even 5 minutes really.

Mid-South Tag Titles: Ted DiBiase & Steve Williams © vs. The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) (3/16/86)

DiBiase comes out carrying the flag so patriotism is in full force here. Jack Victory also debuts here as the Sheeps’ protégé. Great action to start the match as the Sheeps were bumping all over the place for DiBiase & Doc. The Sheeps get the advantage using dirty tactics and Doc plays the FIP but he hits a big shoulderblock on Miller before tagging DiBiase who along with Doc pound on the Sheeps some more. It breaks down into a 4-way brawl with DiBiase getting the figure-four on Miller but Luke comes off the top rope with the flagpole over DiBiase’s throat and the Sheeps win the titles. Really good while it lasted and they went to the finish a little too quick for my taste as they weren’t building to it yet before Victory got involved waving the flag.

Koko Ware vs. Mike Scott (3/16/86)

Koko looks great and wins in seconds.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Tarras Bulba (3/16/86)

Bulba comes into this match undefeated and it’s all action from the bell. Chavo looks awesome hitting all of his signature moves and wins quickly with a Northern Lights Suplex.
