December 12, 20213 yr comment_5970058 A nice way of summing up why she fucking sucks. I don't think she did much wrong in that gif above though. That's all on Toni. Is Meltzer still banging on about how Toni Storm is a future superstar? I never saw it.
December 12, 20213 yr comment_5970061 Charlotte going for a pin on an opponent who was lying face-down was worse than anything Toni did. We've created a generation of wrestlers who are so focused on hooking the leg that they've forgotten the goal is to pin the opponent's shoulders to the mat.
December 12, 20213 yr comment_5970062 Sure, but the spot didn't go "according to plan" because Storm didn't get into position.
December 12, 20213 yr comment_5970063 TBF while I never saw anything in Toni Storm in NXT/WWE, some of her stuff from prior was pretty good. The problem seems to come from WWE having no idea how to market women characters outside of "athletic (which usually just means someone who did sports in college)", "snobby bitch", or "generic create-a-wrestler".
December 12, 20213 yr comment_5970064 I don't watch Smackdown, but from what I've gathered from reading, podcasts etc . . is Storm getting "Mickie James'd", so to speak? Disappears from TV. Returns looking trimmed down. Confidence seemingly shaken. And now her gimmick is that she's into pies?
December 12, 20213 yr comment_5970065 It's really impossible to separate Charlotte the character and person more than just about anyone in wrestling in recent years. And her booking has frequently intentionally been used to annoy fans that she gets preferential booking, so it all wraps back in on itself. It's pretty weird, really. Even if you ignore all the times she's lost her cool in the ring and semi-shot on co-workers on live tv.
December 12, 20213 yr comment_5970066 It really seems like she's "worked herself into a shoot" as the Hulkster would say. Much like what happened with her dad it looks like Ashley Fleihr stopped existing and WWE character Charlotte Flair is now her life 24/7.
December 12, 20213 yr comment_5970067 Maybe, but how much of that perception is from her being pretty much the only character on the shows where they explicitly portray her as being the same in "real life"?

Somehow, her persona has come to represent an ouroboros of everything that's wrong with modern WWE, to an extent that even eclipses Brock and Roman. For a company hellbent on keeping "superstars" smaller than the brand itself, they sure have a way of spawning toxic egos.
December 13, 20213 yr comment_5970175 Last week's Raw is on BT Sport here so thought i would watch it, first time in a while There is a spot where Kevin Owens has Big E in a boston crab (in a cage match?!) but during attempted escape Seth Rollins slams the door into their faces It might be the worst spot I've saw all year. Honestly it is amateur hour these days
December 14, 20213 yr comment_5970201 Blood Runs Cold 2.0. The shitty CGI and the screams made it as hilariously cheesy as the 1995 movie. And the 2021, probably. But I'm pretty sure the template is 1995...
