Posted December 29, 20213 yr comment_5971160 The last Dynamite of the TNT era! It's been good fun, hopefully TBS is even better.
December 29, 20213 yr comment_5971161 TK mentioning something about a "bittersweet" announcement on the show. Hopefully it's just a goodbye to TNT, but considering they are just moving to a sister station in the same family it would be odd to call that bittersweet.
December 29, 20213 yr Author comment_5971162 Maybe Jericho is retiring after his latest illness scare
December 29, 20213 yr comment_5971165 This might be the bittersweet part. https://mobile.twitter.com/TonyKhan/status/1476262171394940936
December 29, 20213 yr comment_5971166 Surely a name that has been there forever, and never worked WWE oddly enough. Last year's last show was the Brodie Lee tribute. That is also certainly a bittersweet anniversary. So many fun multi-men matches on the card. Looking forward to Thunder Rosa vs Jade Cargill too, as it's a really a test for Jade going against an excellent worker in a meaningful match. This has been an awesome year for AEW. Favorite year of TV wrestling for me in 31 years.

I'm sure Thunder Rosa will work her ass off to make this match decent, I'm assuming this whole tournament is designed to build up Jade so the finals are what I'm going to be wondering about since Ruby Soho has not really been all that impressive IMO.
December 29, 20213 yr comment_5971182 I'm not very knowledgeable about this kind of thing:: how has AEW promoted the switch to TBS? From what I've seen it's been pretty subtle, not a lot of GUYS, WE ARE CHANGING NETWORKS" which I think is kind of needed (I remember WWE promoting for a long ass time the "homecoming" to USA Network when they switched back from Spike). Then again, maybe that sort of stuff is not necessary in 2021?

Also you have to keep in mind every time WWE changed networks it was to competing ones so they really had to hammer home the switch because the network they are leaving wouldn't. With AEW they are just going to a sister station of the one they are on so TNT itself did ads telling people to watch on TBS starting on Jan 5. AEW hasn't had to do the hard sell as much because the TV partner is doing a bit of the heavy lifting for them.

December 30, 20213 yr comment_5971197 It can still be defended on Rampage, and I'm wondering if it will be exclusive. I guess we'll see. It's a minor thing if someone offers them $250 million or something, but I also think about the future of those titles if they switch networks when their current deal is up.
December 30, 20213 yr comment_5971198 I just figure if/when they ever change networks they'll just name them after whatever ones they jump to (hey the "USA Title" would fit nicely, lol)
December 30, 20213 yr Author comment_5971201 That was a big pop for JR. Crowd also seems their hottest in weeks
December 30, 20213 yr comment_5971203 Tony pointing out that the heel team has two of the best tag team wrestlers ever in Tully and Matt Hardy on their side is such a small but great thing for an announcer to mention.
December 30, 20213 yr comment_5971204 Kingston not having any time for any introduction nonsense because asses need to be kicked got a pop from me.
December 30, 20213 yr Author comment_5971205 I love Danny Garcia's presence in the ring. He's got a certain charisma about him

Been watching too much Monday Night Raw now that he can't sing on tour
December 30, 20213 yr comment_5971209 If Cody ends up turning Dan Lambert babyface after all this I will laugh so hard
December 30, 20213 yr comment_5971212 Memo to literally everyone in wrestling: You have no idea how stupid, pathetic and fake you look when you do fake laughing while the person next to you cuts their promo. Stop doing it. STOP. STOP!
December 30, 20213 yr comment_5971213 I wish Jade Cargill didn't have to learn on national television, because I think her upside is huge when she becomes more seasoned.
December 30, 20213 yr Author comment_5971214 She is doing an excellent job selling her leg. This is by far her best performance in her short career
