Posted September 19, 200718 yr comment_5422094 UWF Heavyweight Title: Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy © vs. One Man Gang (9/21/86) Gang comes to the ring waving his awesome pirate flag. The basic storyline of this feud was that Gang was the reason that Gordy won the title because he injured Duggan before their match in the finals. Gordy is playing babyface here and this just starts out as big-man battle to see who is the strongest. Gordy uses punches and a running clothesline to finally get the Gang off his feet and as Gordy runs the ropes, Akbar trips him up which gives Gang the quick advantage. Gordy juices after Gang starts biting at his head and Gang spends the next few minutes working on that cut both in and out of the ring. After they get back in the ring, Gordy makes his comeback using some great punches with one sending Gang over the top rope to the floor. Gordy then posts the Gang who juices himself and starts going after Akbar before the action goes back to the ring. Both men are bleeding profusely now and Gordy goes for a piledriver but Gang sends him running into Carl Fergie before Gang sends Gordy into the other turnbuckle and he hit so hard it broke the top rope. Gang then just fell out of the ring as Gordy sets up for the Oriental Spike which he locks on but Akbar comes in the ring and he gets KOed. Gordy & Gang then just start trading punches with Fergie trying to break them up and they throw him away a few times to cause a DDQ. This was a tremendous match and a slam dunk nomination.
September 21, 200718 yr comment_5422142 Will should just make a comp of the best broken ring matches in wrestling history. This was two big dudes punching each in the face and bumping like freaks, totally awesome stuff and without a shadow of a doubt a DVD pick. OMG was so great in Mid-South, it is weird to see how much better guys like Gang, Duggan and Reed were in UWF compared to their WWF stuff
September 21, 200718 yr Author comment_5422144 There is a reason for that, Watts demanded his guys to work their ass off or they would not have a job anymore. Notice how most guys like Duggan, Reed, JYD, hell even Jake got into worse shape after leaving for the "bigtime."
September 21, 200718 yr comment_5422147 It should be said that OMG was working a fake Dusty gimmick in the WWF. So he was doing lots of comedy Dusty mannerisms as opposed to this type of all out serious brawling. This is a slam dunk pick and really two guys laying into each other.
