Michael Hayes left for the ring during the break and they showed what happened with Hayes going to get Duggan out of the ring, which started a huge brawl between all 4 men. Akbar then comes down with Leroy Brown & One Man Gang who attack Duggan leaving Doc to get double-teamed. Gordy holds Doc’s left arm on the railing and Hayes jumps off the apron on the arm. Jim Ross says that the match will not happen but sure enough Doc comes back with his arm bandaged and he’s ready for action. Gordy immediately start working on the injured arm but Doc fights through the pain and uses headbutts on the ground to keep Gordy off of him but Gordy is relentless and just keeps working on the arm. Doc makes a comeback though with more headbutts and great right hand punches following it up with a spear. Gordy to his credit though continues to work on the arm but Doc continues to show bravery continuing to fight back at spots. Doc gets Gordy down with a fireman’s carry and then a double clothesline take both men down. Gordy climbs up top and Doc press slams him off with one hand and hits an ugly body press for a nearfall. Doc then hits two big spears on Gordy to take him down and then hits a one-handed piledriver using the trunks for another nearfall. Doc hit another clothesline for another nearfall and then throws Gordy into the ropes where he does a semi-Flair bump just hanging on the top rope until Doc knocks him off. The fans in Little Rock right now are going apeshit over this whole situation and then Hayes shows up again before being cut off by Ronnie West as Doc gets another nearfall. Doc sees Hayes while Gordy puts brass knux on his hand and KO’s Doc for the victory. This whole scenario was so fucking great and Jim Ross sealed the deal on commentary. Just fantastic stuff with Doc putting on a tremendous performance working with one arm and this is a slam dunk nomination.
September 21, 200718 yr comment_5422143 Doc was really great fighting through the pain, and the totally insane Tulsa crowd really made this. I especially loved all of the topes he kept using because he couldn't use his arm. I did think Doc dominated this match a little too much for a guy with one arm, but still a minor point for a great match.
September 21, 200718 yr comment_5422148 Ok what Hacksaw in New Japan stuff do I need to see. I didn't like this as much as the other Williams v Gordy match or the Gordy v OMG match. Doc is really great as guy fighting through pain. And Gordy is really great at bumping around. But the earlier Williams v Gordy and the OMG v Gordy was two heavyweights going at it and this was more just Gordy stooging and flopping around till he could load weapon. This should make a set as it showcases some of strengths of both guys but I doubt it will go high.
September 21, 200718 yr comment_5422150 I think should make a disk. The angle to open the match was cool and set up the story of the match. I loved the early part of the match with Gordy working the arm and Williams selling. The high impact hope spots of Williams were great. The match was cool, the finish was lame. I would have prefered something that involved the arm though.
