Kamala vs. Ted Allen (10/27/82) Squash. No DQ Loser Leaves Town for 90 days for the Mid-South Tag Titles: Junkyard Dog & Mr. Olympia © vs. Matt Borne & Ted DiBiase (10/27/82) Borne was brought in to substitute for the missing Hacksaw Duggan. The champs hit the ring and the brawl is on as they run the heels to the floor. JYD was starting to get out of shape around this time but was still working pretty hard. Borne came in here as a breath of fresh air as he was a great bumper and tremendous worker and in this he really worked good against Olympia. The crowd heat for this was tremendous as there was a lot of kids there due to the state fair going on and it seemed like it got the guys to step it up as well. DiBiase & Olympia were throwing tremendous punches here and JYD was throwing some great headbutts. Olympia took a great beating before being drug by the JYD to make the hot tag and JYD came in cleaning house. JYD took the foreign object out of DiBiase’s glove and hit Borne with it and then the gorilla that was in the audience slammed Olympia on the floor revealing himself as Hacksaw Duggan. Duggan then enters the ring and delivers two spears to JYD and DiBiase picks up his object putting it back in his glove and then KO’s JYD to win the match. Great stuff and a legendary angle making this a definite nomination. Tony Atlas vs. Grappler #2 (Tony Anthony) (10/27/82) Atlas’ TV debut that was overshadowed by the previous match. “Gorgeous” Gino Hernandez vs. Jesse Barr (10/27/82) Gino looked great and Barr was a good opponent for him. I love how Paul Boesch on commentary calls Gino a 2nd generation wrestler and how good his dad was, nice of him to do that. The Rat Pack do a great promo after the match talking about how what they did earlier in the show. Mr. Wrestling II vs. Marty Lunde (10/27/82) II looked good. Hiro Matsuda & Yoshiaki Yatsu vs. Tim Horner & Vinnie Romeo (10/27/82) Damn was Yatsu rawboned and threw an impressive belly to belly. Matsuda was also great. The Rat Pack cut another great promo with Watts this time about their greatness. Tony Atlas vs. Bob Stabler (10/27/82) They show a great Atlas workout video before the match from Georgia and this ends up being Atlas beating on Stabler, Duggan, & Marty Lunde. Stagger Lee (Junkyard Dog) vs. Ted DiBiase (10/27/82) Pee Wee Anderson comes out with a banner saying that S. Lee = Stagger Lee who of course is JYD under a hood. DiBiase automatically knows who it was but it doesn’t stop him from being squashed. Hacksaw Duggan vs. Vinnie Romeo (10/27/82) Duggan was bloodied from the brawl earlier with Atlas and came in this bandaged and beat the hell out of Romeo. Colonel Buckley Christopher George Robley III & Mr. Wrestling II vs. The Grapplers (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) (10/27/82) Fine competitive match. Matt Borne & Ted DiBiase vs. Mr. Olympia & Iron Mike Sharpe (10/27/82) Really good match that ends with a DiBiase loaded glove shot on Olympia.
October 19, 200717 yr comment_5422934 No DQ Loser Leaves Town for 90 days for the Mid-South Tag Titles: Junkyard Dog & Mr. Olympia © vs. Matt Borne & Ted DiBiase (10/27/82) Yeah this was totally awesome, Olympia is such a blast to watch, and big match JYD is big match JYD. Borne's top rope sitting splash is totally brutal, and he bumped like a freak. We need to add the post match interview where DiBiase calls JYD a Gorilla. Colonel Buckley Christopher George Robley III & Mr. Wrestling II vs. The Grapplers (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) (10/27/82) This was fun, as I am loving all of this II, not a disc level Matt Borne & Ted DiBiase vs. Mr. Olympia & Iron Mike Sharpe (10/27/82) If Sharpe didn't suck so much this would have been a contender as Olympia was great, still Sharpe blows
