Look at it from his perspective. The money from the TV networks and the Saudis is still pouring in, and he's surrounded by yes men who tell him everything's great and get fired if they question him. Most people in that position wouldn't care about optics either. And if you take that away, Cody had zero leverage once his AEW deal expired. I also can't imagine TV ratings getting much lower. It seems like those still watching are going to keep watching regardless and will watch the entire show.
