i thought the crowd would be dead for the main event but they proved me wrong!

What's really interesting to me is i think putting the Sting trios right before it actually helped liven up the crowd, which is kind of the opposite of the traditional "cooldown before the main event" theory

You have to have something hot to perk up a crowd before the main on a long show. The cooldown match has always been stupid, especially as WWE always used it to put the women in a nothing match to make sure the fans know not to give a shit about it. You should want the crowd buzzing as much as possible going into the main event, not cooled down needing to get excited again.

Surprised Omega didn’t make an appearance tonight, but happy to see he’s getting a much needed rest. Guessing Double or Nothing is the spot now to build up to All Out.

Unless he was lying, and there's no reason to believe he was, Omega isn't ready to come back in the short term so him showing up tonight was never going to happen. He was interviewed a couple of weeks ago by Meltzer and he said he still hadn't done the surgeries he wanted to have when he took this time off (pandemic screwed up the schedules). He's feeling better but he said he isn't coming back before those procedures and feeling 100%. DoN might make more sense but Tony could want him back to pop a rating for Dynamite in the summer.
