Eli the Eliminator vs. Bobby Perez (12/26/86)

Squash.

Sting vs. Gary Young (12/26/86)

This is JIP and Sting is showing improvement.

Mike George vs. Brickhouse Brown (12/21/86)

Damn George has gained quite a bit of weight over the last 5 years and Brick is making his return after 16 months. Jack Victory is in George’s corner and his hair is ridiculous with a two-toned blond/black. George has taken John Tatum’s place as he nearly killed himself in a car wreck. Brick basically looks like a jobber here.

Hacksaw Duggan & Terry Taylor vs. Rick Steiner & Sting (12/21/86)

Hot Stuff & Hyatt are at ringside decked out in pink. Steiner is really looked jacked up here and he takes a pounding from both Duggan & Taylor. Sting then tags in and receives the same punishment with Duggan & Taylor looking great as a team. The heels start using illegal double team moves to get the advantage on Taylor and they pound on Taylor for a while with Steiner giving a brutal Steinerline as the Tulsa fans go crazy for Taylor. Sting hits a diving clothesline from the top rope and a sweet dropkick as he shows more improvement. Taylor tries for a hot tag but Steiner tags in and locks in a camel clutch. Taylor finally makes the hot tag to Duggan and he WALKS TALL over the heels hitting a vicious clothesline on Steiner as the time limit runs out. The match is a draw. Gilbert gets on the mic after the match and asks for more time, which brings the faces back in the ring to take care of Hot Stuff International. Sting eats a spear from Duggan and the troops leave for higher ground. This was a really solid TV match with great heat and a good angle afterwards, this goes on the block even though it is a low end candidate.

“Dr. Death” Steve Williams vs. Gustavo Mendoza (12/21/86)

This was a complete squash.

Michael “PS” Hayes & Buddy Roberts vs. Ken Massey & Gary Young (12/21/86)

Sunshine accompanies the Birds to ringside as she is their new valet. This was another complete squash but the Fantastics come out with taped fists after the match and they hit a spike piledriver on Buddy. Fants then cut a promo saying that they are going to fight fire with fire from now on. This brings out the Birds and the Angel of Death but the Fants hit a double dropkick on him sending him out then Hayes/Buddy come back in for a 4-way brawl. Angel gets back in the ring and it’s 3-on-2 and they destroy the Fants breaking Rogers’ ribs with a ribbreaker and then throws Fulton into Angel’s head blading on impact. Hayes then pulls out a brown paper sack with the infamous FREEBIRD HAIR CREAM with referees trying to get it out of his hand and he decides to gather the troops and leave. This was a tremendous angle with both Fants bloodied up.

One Man Gang vs. Bobby Perez (12/21/86)

Squash.

Iceman King Parsons & The Missing Link vs. Art Crews & The Libyan (12/21/86)

Iceman wins with some ASS BASED OFFENSE.

Iceman King Parsons vs. Jack Victory (12/26/86)

JIP from Houston. Pretty good match with Mike George running in for the DQ.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Mike George (12/26/86)

JIP and Chavo looked great using the moonsault for the pin. Victory jumped him after the match so Iceman made the save.

#1 Contender Match for the UWF Heavyweight Title: Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy vs. “Dr. Death” Steve Williams (12/26/86)

This is also JIP, which sucks. These two always cause damage to each other and the ringside area this time they broke a security railing twice. Jim Ross buries the WWF and the local sportswriters on commentary for loving WWF. There were some great spots here like Gordy hit a nice backdrop driver on Doc for a nearfall. They ended up being counted out after a wild brawl on the floor. This was what you would expect from these two, just a great battle of the big men.

A Houston version of a Doc/DiBiase Born in the USA video airs.

Next is the 1986 Year In Review show.

Gary Young vs. Mike George (1/9/87)

JIP from Houston and Young gets a big win.

Wild Bill Irwin vs. Jeff Gaylord (1/9/87)

JIP from Houston and Irwin wins.

The Missing Link vs. Buddy Roberts (1/9/87)

JIP from Houston and Buddy is wearing his 1981 Georgia tights here. I think that of the UWF active roster at this time these were the two oldest guys but you wouldn’t know if you weren’t smart. Hayes comes out with DiBiase’s loaded black glove and he nails Link with it but Dark Journey puts Link’s foot on the rope. Link makes a comeback and wins the match.

The Angel of Death vs. Jeff Raitz (1/4/87)

Squash.

“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert & Sting vs. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) (1/4/87)

Damn does Tulsa love the Fants. Fants look awesome to start the match with great teamwork and the heels do a great job in selling and bumping for them. The heels get the advantage on Fulton working on his back and Fulton tries to make a spirited comeback but Gilbert cuts him off. Rogers gets the hot tag and looks awesome when all of a sudden Terry Gordy shows up and slams Fulton into the ringpost then attacks Rogers in the ring giving him a piledriver. Dr. Death then runs out as Gordy just walks out of the ring putting his jacket back on. The match was lots of fun and the angle afterwards was nice too.

Eli the Eliminator vs. Bobby Perez (1/4/87)

Squash.

Ted DiBiase vs. Ken Massey (1/4/87)

DiBiase makes his return after being “injured” by the One Man Gang, damn those tours of All-Japan always got DiBiase injured. DiBiase calls out Akbar & OMG after the match and they oblige leading to a wild brawl. DiBiase juices over his right eye and Gang keeps pounding on him but Gang missed his 747 splash and DiBiase pinned him to prove he could beat the champ.

Chavo Guerrero & Iceman King Parsons vs. “Bad Bad” Leroy Brown & Wild Bill Irwin (1/4/87)

TV time runs out during the match.

Badstreet Match: Ted DiBiase & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy & Michael “PS” Hayes) (1/9/87)

This is from Houston and we will get the whole match I hope. The Birds are dressed in their jeans as that is the rules for this but DiBiase/Doc come out in full wrestling gear, which surprised me. It’s a brawl at the bell as all four men just beat the piss out of each other. DiBiase was throwing some tremendous punches here with his taped fists. Doc & Gordy come in and they have a great exchange with the highlight being Doc basically deadlifting Gordy in a German Suplex. Hayes starts hitting Doc with his boot and that turns the tide of the match with Williams taking a beating trying to make the hot tag, which he gets after Gordy accidentally hits Hayes. DiBiase comes in and cleans house and the 4-way brawl is on but Gordy starts working on DiBiase’s neck to slow the match back down. Gordy tries to hit his modified piledriver on DiBiase but Doc runs in and breaks that up. DiBiase gets the hot tag as TV time starts to run out with Paul Boesch promising the remainder of the match on the next show, which we don’t have.

This is a bunch of fun, I really like the Sting and Steiner team for big green guys unsure of what they can do. It is crazy to see what a bump freak Steiner was back in the day. The clothesline by Duggan is what put this match over the top

This was JIP about 3 minutes in, and we got 14 or so minutes of it, plenty of the match to put on a disc. This is as good as it always is, Two giant guys pounding on each other. Gordy takes some great bumps on the shoulder tackles, this had less high end Gordy offense then their matches usually have, but it really built to a hot finish. Good shit
