North American Heavyweight Title: Magnum TA © vs. Ted DiBiase (6/84)

This is the match from Tulsa that was cut off of 1.1 so let’s see how this compares to their OKC match. DiBiase jumps Magnum from behind at the bell but Magnum starts firing the punches and chunks DiBiase to the floor and here we go again with the brawl on the floor. Magnum pounds DiBiase’s head on the apron a few times and chases Teddy back in the ring. Magnum continues his offense until DiBiase pulls him through the ropes and to the floor where Magnum has juiced. DiBiase starts working on Magnum’s cut at ringside by slamming him into the railing where the female fans are hollering as he pulls the skin on Magnum’s forehead. Teddy then takes it back to the ring where he starts his offensive brigade by continuing to work on the cut with his diving fist drops. Magnum is a bloody mess and Teddy locks in a sleeper to weaken him further but Magnum would work his way back up to his feet and carried DiBiase over the top rope with his momentum. DiBiase would get back in and try for a piledriver but Magnum would backdrop him, which would fuel his comeback. They started trading shots and as said before Magnum was such a great fiery babyface on his comebacks. They would knock noggins and DiBiase loaded up his glove but Magnum ducked and caught him with an atomic drop followed by the belly-to-belly to score the pinfall. This was different and not quite as good as the OKC match but a solid nomination nonetheless.

Bunkhouse Match: Hercules Hernandez & “Hacksaw” Butch Reed vs. “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes & Hacksaw Duggan (8/19/84)

This is also from Tulsa and Dusty’s specialty match, so of course it’s a wild brawl as soon as the faces enter the ring. Tulsa crowd is going apeshit for Dusty and he is totally in his element here as he just pounds the living fuck out of the heels and Reed’s selling alone is phenomenal with Herc’s looking great also. Duggan gets in and it’s more of the same as Herc gets to take the beating from him as Dusty continues to kick the shit out of Reed on the floor. Duggan starts whipping Herc with his leather belt but a knee to the back by Reed and neckdrop across the top rope turned the tide of the match. The heels then began to start give the faces a dose of their own medicine as Butch uses a steel chair on Dusty on the floor which of course brought out the juice. Dusty gets doubleteamed for a bit but Dusty becomes the BULLODAWOODS and starts clubberin the heels with double bionic elbows and knuckle sandwiches. Cornette would get involved by throwing powder in Duggan’s eyes and as Reed tries a piledriver, Dusty reverses into a backdrop but Herc put something on his boot and kicked Dusty in the head as he tried a pinfall thus giving the match to the heels. This was a fantastic brawl and a slam dunk nomination.

“Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer & “Mr. Unpredictable” Dick Slater vs. The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) (10/27/85)

Sawyer & Slater trying to pull the Fants in the ring as they were kissing chicks at ringside was great. Both teams look great here tagging in and out, doing double teams, working the ref to their advantage, good stuff. Dark Journey of course gets involved scratching Rogers and kicking him in the back. Rogers was fucking awesome here as the face in peril as he took quite the beating from Sawyer & Slater but kept on coming back. Fulton comes in like a house of fire and the 4-way brawl is on but the heels use a modified Hart Attack to get the win. Great fast paced back and forth match and I’m throwing this on the nominee block.

Hacksaw Duggan vs. Buzz Sawyer (11/11/85)

Coming in, I expect nothing but a brawl considering the angles leading up and it delivered. Duggan was on fire early in the match and Buzz bladed about 2 minutes in hitting a nice gusher and I loved Duggan yelling at the referee to “GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME” as he threw Buzz into the security railing. Duggan just kept on beating the hell out of Buzz until he went for the “injured” eye and punched him right in the balls sending Duggan to the floor. Buzz biting on Duggan’s head was awesome as he kept doing it off and on for a couple of minutes before Duggan returned the favor and with Buzz that wasn’t the safest thing to do and then really punted Buzz in his sack before hitting a great looking spear knocking Buzz to the floor. Buzz got up and was like fuck this bullshit and started walking out of the building for the countout finish, which surprised me because since this match was so filled with hate on Duggan’s part, he just stood there. Well I got my answer as Buzz sprinted back in the ring after the bell and jumped Duggan from behind just throwing him down headfirst on the mat then working on the “injured” eye. Duggan got another comeback though and kept beating the shit out of Buzz and any referee that got in the way before the locker room cleared to pull him off leading to a huge pull-apart. They finally got out of the ring but they met each other in the back of the building leading to another brawl with Nick Patrick wearing his Cris Collinsworth jersey shirt trying to pull Duggan off while he yells “I’M GOING TO KICK YOUR FUCKING ASS” was fantastic. This was a tremendous brawl and I got it as a DVD pick right now.

North American Heavyweight Title: Dick Murdoch © vs. Butch Reed (10/13/85)

This is from OKC and from the House Show 082 tape that UWA doesn’t even have on their site anymore and also JIP which sucks dick. From what was show it looked like a great match but also like the matches we already have so this probably wasn’t a big loss.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts vs. Shawn Michaels (3/30/85)

Squash but fun to watch.

American Heavyweight Title: “Gentleman” Chris Adams © vs. “The Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich (3/30/85)

This is from the Superdome and since it’s not in Texas we might get a good finish here. Kerry comes out early with his great punches sending Adams over the top rope to the floor forcing him to regroup. The action would get back in the ring and Adams started mounting his offense with two fucking great Superkicks as a setup to his other offense. Adams is working this at sprint pace as he locks in a sleeper and just continues to bring it to Kerry keeping him grounded. Adams would soon hit another Superkick that sent Kerry flying over the top rope and as Adams tried to kick Kerry, he pulled him to the floor and punched him a couple of times before going back to the ring. Kerry would lock in a sleeper of his own but would let go and eventually knocked Adams to the floor but Adams would return and send Kerry back to the floor crashing on the ringside table where Adams would pound his head on. Kerry would come back in and lock a sleeper again but they would crash heads before long leaving the match at a stalemate. Kerry would go for the Iron Claw but Adams fought it off and would make a quick comeback before being thrown into the referee on an O’Connor Roll attempt by Kerry. Kerry would lock the claw in and they rolled from the ring to the apron when the bell rung because Adams grabbed his title belt and hit Kerry with it for the DQ. Shitty finish to a really solid match.

4 Way Elimination Match: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. The Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts) vs. The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) (3/30/85)

Very interesting match booked for this time period because you didn’t see these much. It was funny to watch the Birds playing face here against Roadies & DWB’s. RnR take some good beatings here especially Morton when he ate a piledriver from Animal. The Dome goes nuts whenever RnR get in the ring and they show some great teamwork with the Birds here. There are a lot of constant tags in this keeping fresh guys in the ring. Michael Hayes starts brawling with Paul Ellering on the floor thus starting off a huge brawl with the Birds/Roadies then the RnR dropkicks both DWB’s over the top rope to the floor and they join the fun. Roadies are eliminated on the floor then the Birds pin the DWB’s leaving them & RnR in the ring to fight it out. DWB’s attack Hayes as he enters the ring and the Birds get DQed for the RnR victory. This was a fun match but way too much going on and a screwy finish.
