Posted September 26, 200718 yr comment_5422214 Iceman King Parsons & The Missing Link vs. Ken Massey & Jack Victory (1/4/87) Poor Victory is now stuck teaming with jobbers and puts up a fight but his team has no chance here. One Man Gang vs. Bobby Perez (1/4/87) Perez has some shitty luck as he gets stuck with all the big dudes it seemed. Jim Ross conducts an interview with Terry Gordy where he just discusses the current events of the UWF. UWF Tag Titles: Hacksaw Duggan & Terry Taylor © vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts) (1/4/87) Hayes mentions on commentary that this is the first time the Birds are going for the UWF Tag Titles, which is wrong but who cares. Eli the Eliminator & Wild Bill Irwin jump the champs on their way to the ring and OMG follows with a table which they run the champs’ head into. Duggan tries to fight back but Devastation Inc. continues to pound on them. Jeff Raitz & Gary Young tries to help but they get thrown aside as the beatdown continues with Duggan juicing. DiBiase & Savannah Jack then run off the heels. Michael Hayes comes to the ring and demands that the Birds receive the titles since they champs can’t wrestle and Gordy got his title stripped from him because he couldn’t wrestle. Ken Mantell finally shows up and basically tells the Birds to go fuck themselves. Hayes is demanding the champs come out but they get DiBiase & Doc instead, which sends the Birds running to the floor. Rick Steiner & Sting vs. Jeff Raitz & Gary Young (1/4/87) Steiner & Sting look awesome. UWF TV Title: Savannah Jack © vs. Michael “PS” Hayes (1/4/87) Hayes jumps Jack at the bell and the Birds follow so this is another non-match. Iceman, Link, & Chavo run off the Birds this time after 9 diving elbow smashes. Hayes grabs the UWF TV Title belt and walks out. Lumberjack Match: Dark Journey vs. Missy Hyatt (1/4/87) Missy comes out with a huge pillow and Steiner/Sting hold it up for her broken thumb. Gilbert & Missy do a tremendous job here of explaining the injury. DJ wins the match by forfeit and as Steiner/Sting jump the Link, they hold up DJ for a loaded purse shot but Iceman runs in and DJ nails Missy with the loaded purse. Gilbert carries Missy out of the arena. Chavo Guerrero vs. Art Crews (1/18/87) Competitive match and Chavo looked great. Eli the Eliminator vs. Jeff Gaylord (1/18/87) Squash. Savannah Jack vs. Ken Massey (1/18/87) Squash. Ted DiBiase vs. Mike George (1/18/87) There was some really good straight wrestling early in the match until George decided to punch DiBiase out of a break in the corner and he started heeling it up. DiBiase made a comeback though and was peppering George with punches but we go to a break and when we come back, George has DiBiase on the mat. Jack Victory has also shown up as George maintains his offense but DiBiase would soon make his comeback that didn’t last long as DiBiase ran into a high kneelift. DiBiase would get a sunset flip for a nearfall and then reversed an atomic drop with one of his own but George kept fighting back and kept control. DiBiase though capitalized on a missed headbutt and took back the control but he would hit Tommy Gilbert after a leapfrog causing Victory to come in the ring and they hit a double suplex. DiBiase went to his tights and pulled out his black glove and KOed George for the win. OMG then came out and jumped DiBiase but DiBiase used the glove on Gang’s ribs sending him to the floor. Good match.
