Posted September 29, 200718 yr comment_5422364 Koko Ware vs. “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert (3/2/86) Gilbert offers Koko a job with Hot Stuff International before the match and of course that was turned down. Koko comes out firing some fucking great punches that Gilbert was selling like gunshots then jacked his jaw with an awesome dropkick. Gilbert would catch Koko with a Sunday punch in the corner and just went all out on the chickenshit heel offense plus the prancing around was great. Bill Watts was so awesome on commentary talking about how Gilbert is living off some woman. Gilbert hitting the Giant Baba clothesline drop for a nearfall was great. Koko would make a comeback throwing more great punches but Gilbert caught him in the corner then hit a monkey flip. Gilbert would try for a reverse 180 splash and miss then Koko capitalized by hitting a picture-perfect dropkick from the middle rope for the victory. Koko was then demolished by Tarras Bulba but he would make a comeback grabbing the steel chair they brought in the ring and chased them out. The match was tremendous and a nomination for me.
November 5, 200717 yr comment_5423514 This seemed like an abbreviated version of the Houston match with an unsatisfying ending. Maybe I should have watched this one first since it almost seems like a TV preview of what you are going to get on the house show circuit. Kris, I think you need to watch the Houston match and you may feel that that one was more satisfying. I vote no on this one.
