Nikolai Volkoff vs. Johnny Rich (9/13/83)

Squash.

“The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes vs. King Kong Bundy (9/9/83)

Dusty was supposed to face Zbyszko but he didn’t show up so Bundy stepped in. Dusty used his bionic elbow to pound on Bundy early on then the One Man Gang shows up for the DQ. Dusty gets double-teamed until Magnum tries to make the save but fails. Duggan then shows up and they clear the ring.

One Man Gang vs. Ron Ellis (9/13/83)

Squash.

Hacksaw Duggan & Magnum TA vs. King Kong Bundy & The Missing Link (9/13/83)

The heels dominated Magnum for the early part of the match using their roughhouse style and Bundy using his weight advantage to keep Magnum away from Duggan. Duggan would finally get the hot tag after a missed diving elbow by Bundy and he would clean house on both heels. Duggan hits a jumping Mongolian Chop on Bundy then tags in Magnum for a 4-way brawl. Duggan backdrops Bundy then hits a big spear on Bundy for a nearfall but Link comes off the top rope with a diving headbutt for the DQ. Bundy then hits the Avalanche on Magnum but eats another spear by Duggan before the heels can leave the ring.

Junkyard Dog vs. Krusher Darsow (9/13/83)

One thing to note about Darsow in this phase of his career was that he was wearing jean booty shorts with a rope tied around it. Darsow tries to use his power to weaken JYD with a bearhug but JYD would reverse it into one of his own. Darsow got the advantage back and tried his Canadian Backbreaker but JYD would reverse out of it and hit his big Thump for the win.

“Hacksaw” Butch Reed vs. George Weingroff (9/13/83)

Weingroff hangs with Reed early but Reed would get the advantage and never let go.

Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart vs. Art Crews (9/13/83)

Anvil makes his Mid-South debut.

Tom Stanton vs. Jerry Caldwell (9/13/83)

Nothing match.

Junkyard Dog vs. One Man Gang (9/13/83)

JYD chases Akbar around before getting in the ring where he would get crushed by the Gang with the 747 splash but JYD kicked out. JYD would start throwing the soupbones to take the Gang off his feet then got him in a reverse chinlock to weaken him further then started using the headbutts once they got back up. JYD then got a nearfall with a russian legsweep before hitting a running forearm smash that sent Gang reeling. JYD started banging the Gang’s head against the turnbuckle then went back to the reverse chinlock but Gang would get out of it using a choke. Gang started dropping a knee then followed with a legdrop and a bodyslam. Gang climbed up the top rope and missed the 747 but recovered enough to resume his choking of JYD with Akbar getting in on the fun. JYD would get his revenge on Akbar then started nailing Gang again with the forearm then hit the big Thump. Akbar then tried to break that up but hit the Gang for a DQ. Zuhkov runs in the ring to jump JYD and Darsow follows but Darsow turns on the heels and joins JYD in beating them down. Nikolai Volkoff stood on the floor the whole time just watching as JYD & Darsow shook hands. The match was pretty good.

Boris Zuhkov vs. George Weingroff (9/13/83)

Volkoff is once again at ringside for this one. Watts buries the Russians throughout his commentary. Weingroff gets the big win with the Banana Split. Volkoff attacks Zuhkov after the match for losing and exposes Zuhkov as really being from America, which is tremendous.

King Kong Bundy & The Missing Link vs. Denny Alberts & Jerry Caldwell (9/13/83)

Squash.

Jim Ross interviews Krusher Darsow who says that he saved JYD out of personal respect because he beat him fair and square. Darsow then gives Ross the money that Akbar gave him.

Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart vs. Ron Ellis (9/13/83)

Squash.

Hacksaw Duggan vs. “Hacksaw” Butch Reed (9/13/83)

This is a rematch from a few weeks ago and Duggan has the crowd in a frenzy during the introductions. The babyface locker room shows up at ringside early in the match in preparation for something fishy to happen and it turns into a defacto lumberjack match. Reed just gets his ass kicked by Duggan & JYD on the floor but he would take the fight back to Duggan using his soupbones and hit a dropkick. Reed then hit a big forearm smash but it woke up Duggan who started stomping around the ring although Reed would soon press slam him. Reed would miss a diving shoulderblock from the middle rope and then hit a spear on Reed for the pinfall. Another really solid match between these two with the added scene of the faces being around the ring. I’m on the fence though as far as nomination goes because I liked their other one a little better.

Magnum TA vs. Tom Stanton (9/13/83)

Squash.

Johnny Rich & Debbie Combs vs. Art Crews & Donna Day (9/13/83)

A rare mixed tag in Mid-South and wasn’t bad.

Hacksaw Duggan & Magnum TA vs. King Kong Bundy & The Missing Link (9/13/83)

Hey

Road Warriors meanwhile are working competitive and really don't look good. Like wow Sheik Hernandez and Humongous might have had a better match in here.

Bundy and Link are alot better than Hernandez and Humongous. This was fun and I'd love to see a House show version.

Tom Stanton vs. Jerry Caldwell (9/13/83)

If my memory is right Tom Stanton was in one of my favorite 80s IWA Japan matches not to make the 80s indy Japan set. Jerry Caldwell is no Mighty Inoue or Animal Hamaguchi and honestly Stanton sucks without Eddie George and Goro Tsurumi to carry the work.

Junkyard Dog vs. One Man Gang (9/13/83)

Fun. Not as good as the JYD v Bundy match but some fun stuff.

Hacksaw Duggan vs. “Hacksaw” Butch Reed (9/13/83)

I think I liked this more than their other TV match still feels like a low end nomintation.
