They have an audience vote to determine who would face Butch Reed for his North American Heavyweight Title on TV with the participants being Krusher Darsow, Hacksaw Duggan, Junkyard Dog, & Magnum TA. JYD won of course. Reed said that Darsow, JYD, & Duggan are eliminated and he is picking Magnum. Reed is going to defend his NA Title and go for the Mid-South Tag Titles in the same broadcast.

King Cobra & George Weingroff vs. Art Crews & Tom Stanton (10/12/83)

Nothing match.

North American Heavyweight Title: “Hacksaw” Butch Reed © vs. Magnum TA (10/12/83)

Junkyard Dog shows up and he has been appointed the special referee. Butch dominates the early part of the match using all of his power moves but Magnum keeps kicking out of every pinfall. Magnum would hit a belly-to-belly on Reed but Reed would throw Magnum into JYD. Reed climbed up top to hit a diving kneedrop on Magnum but JYD covered him taking the blow. Reed would press slam Magnum and went for a diving shoulderblock from the top rope but Reed would nail him as he came down. Magnum then hit another belly-to-belly suplex on Reed to win the title. This was fine for what it was.

Nikolai Volkoff vs. Mike Reed (10/12/83)

Squash.

“Leaping” Lanny Poffo vs. Doug Vines (10/12/83)

Lanny makes his debut and looks good throwing some great punches winning with the moonsault press.

Mid-South Tag Titles: Hacksaw Duggan & Magnum TA © vs. “Hacksaw” Butch Reed & Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart (10/12/83)

Reed is fighting mad and really takes it to Magnum but Magnum fights back forcing Reed to tag Anvil in. Magnum takes more pounding from Anvil with Duggan soon coming in for a 4-way brawl. Anvil chunked Magnum over the top rope but the ref didn’t see it. There was an awesome spot where Duggan hit his spear on Reed as he was hitting his diving shoulderblock on Duggan. Neidhart would hit his Samoan Drop on Duggan then tried on Magnum but Duggan would spear him. Reed climbed up to the middle rope and hit his diving shoulderblock to win the titles. Once again fine for what it was.

Krusher Darsow vs. King Kong Bundy (10/12/83)

There is like 3 minutes of TV time left. Darsow got Bundy in a big slam but for a nearfall and it goes to a TV draw.

George Weingroff & Chief Lone Eagle vs. Tom Stanton & Cowboy Lang (10/12/83)

This was a fun little match (no pun intended.)

“Leaping” Lanny Poffo vs. Art Crews (10/12/83)

Poffo looks good again.

Nikolai Volkoff vs. Tony Torres (10/12/83)

Squash.

Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart & “Hacksaw” Butch Reed vs. King Cobra & Mike Reed (10/12/83)

Squash.

North American Heavyweight Title: Magnum TA © vs. King Kong Bundy (10/12/83)

Bundy batters Magnum for most of the match but Magnum makes a good comeback before being thrown into the referee. Bundy hits the Avalanche on Magnum but there is no ref and Magnum dropkicked him in the back of the head as Bundy looked for the referee to get the victory. Nothing special

Junkyard Dog vs. The Missing Link (10/12/83)

Not a good match. JYD hits the big Thump on Link after he missed a diving headbutt off the top rope.

Krusher Darsow vs. Mike Bond (10/12/83)

Squash.

North American Heavyweight Title: “Hacksaw” Butch Reed © vs. Magnum TA (10/12/83)

The whole angle around the match is really cool and the finishining run of this is awesome but not much to the body.

“Leaping” Lanny Poffo vs. Doug Vines (10/12/83)

It's your ICW meeting in Mid South. Watts trying to explain why Poffo is allowed to come off top rope is convoluted. Watts brags about how they just got onto a Port Arthur TV Station. RIP Pimp C.

Mid-South Tag Titles: Hacksaw Duggan & Magnum TA © vs. “Hacksaw” Butch Reed & Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart (10/12/83)

The finishing run of this is really almsot briscoes, or Marafuji/Kenta elaborate and great. Some of the execution is off but just a great end run. The colliding spear spot had me leaping up. I liked that Reed was kind of selling the backfireing of his earlier angle during lots of this as he's both fatigued from working two matches and also pissed from loosing the first. Still not much to the body of this before the end run.

George Weingroff & Chief Lone Eagle vs. Tom Stanton & Cowboy Lang (10/12/83)

Hey it's Stanton teamed with a tiny guy. Lang v Lone Eagle isn't Inoue v Tsurumi. Actually not as much wrestling between the two midgets as there was in their Tri-State match. Instead lots and lots of heel miscommunication and collision spots. Stanton though is really good at missed timed heel collision spots. he should have worked more of those with Tsurumi.

North American Heavyweight Title: Magnum TA © vs. King Kong Bundy (10/12/83)

I liked this more than alot of the other TA stuff from around this period as worked less back and forth and more simpler big v little. Again really complicated but cool finish. Really finishes on these two episodes are so much better than any of the finishes on last several DVDs.

Junkyard Dog vs. The Missing Link (10/12/83)

I liked this alot more than Kris as this is just both guys working over their opponents kidneys and short ribs.

Man I loved the finish of this so much, that I am bummed the match wasn't better. I saw the end of this earlier on a year in review show and figured it would be a slam dunk, but it isn't.

Mid-South Tag Titles: Hacksaw Duggan & Magnum TA © vs. “Hacksaw” Butch Reed & Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart (10/12/83)

Yeah totall nutty NOAH juniors tag finish, but the body was as useless as a NOAH juniors tag body

Junkyard Dog vs. The Missing Link (10/12/83)

I actually really dug this match, both guys were just pulveresing each others kidneys, kind of crazy spots for a pair of drug abusers to work with each other.
